All Franklin’s friends could ride without training wheels (辅助轮). They planned to ride to the West Hill for a picnic. Franklin wanted to join them, but he didn’t want them to make fun of (嘲笑) his training wheels. So he took the training wheels off his bike and decided to learn to ride by himself.

Franklin tried a few times, but each time he fell off his bike at last. Soon, his right arm was hurt. “I can’t do this. I’ll never ride again,” said Franklin.

“Riding a bicycle is difficult,” said Mom. “But you can’t just give up (放弃).”

Franklin thought about that. Betty was the first one among his friends to ride by herself. But she fell a lot before she could do that. Winston and Catherine both practiced for many days.

Then Franklin kept practicing with his mother’s help. “I can do it now!” Franklin shouted a week later.

Zhejiang University’s (大学的) playground is filled with the lively music of Phoenix Legend at night. While students are running at night on the playground, they are listening to Phoenix Legend’s music.

The Department (系) of Public Sports and Art in Zhejiang University holds the activity. They want to encourage students to do more exercise and take part in activities. This special way catches many students’ attention.

The activity happens on Wednesday evenings on Zhejiang University’s playground. Before the night running, the organizer (组织者) will prepare some lively songs to make students enjoy the night running. What’s more, they also invite students to help find the proper songs.

Many people think the night running is a good idea. It not only helps students take more exercise to keep fit but also makes their school life more colorful.

Datiehua, or striking iron (铁) flowers, is a traditional (传统的) Chinese art form (形式) and it has a history of more than 1,000 years. People strike iron juice into the sky, making iron flowers more than 10 meters high.

Last June, a video of striking iron flowers got popular online. To many people’s surprise, the main role of the video is young woman. She is Jiang Xunqian.

Jiang Xunqian is a famous vlogger (视频博主). She was interested in the traditional art when she was young. When she saw striking iron flowers three years ago, she decided to learn it herself. Later, she found Yang Jianjun, an inheritor (传承人) of the art. Even though Yang said it was too dangerous for a girl, Jiang Xunqian made a decision to learn it. She spent months practicing, from morning to night. Finally, she became the first woman to perform striking iron flowers.

“Though it was difficult, I made it. For those who want to try something new, I would say ‘Just do it’. Don’t think too much. If you keep trying, you’ll find your answers finally,” she said.

Being organized (有条理的) is important to us. It can make our life easier and save us a lot of time. To be a great student, you’d better stay organized. If you don’t know how to do it, don’t worry.     66    

A great way to stay organized is to have the same routine (例行活动) every morning. Make room for getting dressed and having a healthy breakfast.     67     So you don’t need to worry that you might leave things at home or come to school unprepared.

Make a list (清单) of the things you need to do each day.     68     You will work on these things first. As you work down the list, you'll get to all your goals one by one.

    69     Don’t wait until the last minute, or it will be harder to organize other parts of your life. If you find it hard to finish your homework, you can join a study group.

    70     If you are having a hard time finishing or organizing your schoolwork, talk with a teacher after class. He or she will be glad to give you a helping hand.
