The man was confused(迷惑的). But as she was wise, he agreed to do what he was told. He returned to his house and drove all the animals outside. Then the house looked quite nice and it was quiet. It was that moment that the man felt his home was the most comfortable place in the world.

When Chinese people greet each other for the first time, they often ask, “May I know your family name, please?” There is no question that family names are very important to the Chinese. They are closely connected with the Chinese culture and values. In many ways, they hold the key to our understanding of the Chinese family history.

Chinese people usually talk about Baijiaxing or Surnames when it comes to Chinese family names. Written in the early Northern Song dynasty, the book recorded 504 common family names in China. But according to the present records, the Chinese have at least 5,662 family names altogether. 3,484 of them are single character family names, and 2,032 are two-character family names. Another 146 are three-character family names, which are hardly seen today.

Chinese family names have a history dating back more than 4,000 years. But the origin (起源)of them is very complex. Singer Han Hong took action to help Wuhan, the city at the center of the coronavirus outbreak (冠状病毒爆发). Han Hong had planned to hold the first concert of her 2020 national tour in Wuhan on February 29. But she called off the show and called upon people to donate(捐赠) to the city. “I almost spent all my savings. That's what I want to do and what I can do.” Han said in an interview on the online show, Opinion, in 2015. “Many people don't trust charity organizations to use their donations properly. Charities are held at a higher standard and need to win people's trust.” The show also reported that Han had helped over 200 orphans (孤儿) since 1999.

Da Mao(大毛) and Er Shun(二顺) are two giant pandas (大熊猫) that have made the Calgary Zoo in Canada their home since 2018. They were expected to live there until 2023. 64. However, they will come back to China earlier than expected.

The zoo announced the news on May 12, saying the decision was made due to COVID-19 travel restrictions (限制). The restrictions have made it more challenging for the zoo to get bamboo for the pandas to eat, Global News reported.
