Youth Day in China is celebrated every year on 4th May. It was set up by the Government Administration Council of People's Republic of China in December of 1949 to honor the memory of the May Fourth Movement of 1919.
Youth Day is to remember the event of May 4th that remains forever in the history of China. This is not only a patriotic(爱国的)attitude but also a movement to fight against feudalism(封建主义).
Youth Day has a great influence on the development of modern Chinese culture, language, science as well as democracy(民主). This day also shows the unity and strong will of the Chinese people to defend their nationalism, independence and determination(决心)for freedom and democracy.
In a broader sense, it happened in the time when the country was going through the New Culture Movement. From Super Girl to “Asian hero”, Li Yuchun has always followed her own musical path, As a pioneer, Li was one of the first Chinese singer-songwriters to release digital albums (数字专辑). On the new album, Li wrote a song, You Are Always the Apple of My Eye, dedicated to (献给) her parents, which was released on Chinese Valentine's Day, Qixi festival, which fell on Aug 7 this year. Li, surprised her fans by releasing a short video of a trip she made back to her home in Chengdu, Sichuan province. In the video, her parents cook together and Li chatted with them in the local Sichuan dialect (方言). "I used to avoid revealing(展示) my personal life on social media, but now, I would like to share. McDonald’s Australia has decided to give all healthcare workers a free drink by way of thanks for fighting the novel coronavirus pandemic on the frontline.
The show of community spirit was announced on March 23 and will run right up until May 17, allowing all health professionals to get a free small McCafé hot drink or medium soft drink. In a statement on social media the fast food restaurant wrote, “Some of the most important people at this time are the people who look after us and our loved ones. To say thanks we’re giving any healthcare workers a free drink. All you have to do to get your tasty beverage(饮料)is to drive through the takeaway section of the cafe in your uniform or show your healthcare ID.”
The McDonald’s team in Britain has offered a similar reward to those living in the UK and Ireland, who are in stricter lockdown conditions.
However healthcare workers won’t be able to sit in the building to enjoy the drink, and will need to take it off the premises(经营场所)as soon as they receive it. McDonald’s restaurants across Australia have closed all of the dine-in sections in the midst of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
“At Macca’s, looking after you, our team and the wider community is our priority(优先), so in line with government guidance, we’re making a few changes,” the fast food juggernaut(巨头集团)wrote online. “For the time being, you won’t be able to dine in, but we’ll be here for you to walk in and order takeaways or order food via(通过)Drive-Thru and McDelivery.”
