Modern life is impossible without traveling. The fastest way of traveling is by plane. With a modern airliner(客机), you can travel in one day to places which needed a month or more to get to hundreds of years ago.
Traveling by train is slower than by plane, but you can see the places you are traveling through. Modern trains have comfortable seats and dining-cars. They even make the longest journey enjoyable(令人愉快的).
Some people prefer to travel by sea. You can visit many other countries or different parts of your country. Ships are not so fast as trains or planes, but traveling by sea is a very pleasant way to spend a holiday.
Many people like to travel by car. You can make your own timetable. You can travel three or four hundred miles or only fifty or one hundred miles a day, just as you like. You can stop if there is something interesting, for example, at a good restaurant where you can enjoy a good meal, or at a hotel to spend the night. That’s why traveling by car is popular for pleasure trips, while people usually take a train or a plane when they travel on business.

After Liam graduated from high school, he wondered what it would be like to bike from the point farthest north in the United States all the way to the most southern point in South America. And Liam set out from Alaska on August 1st, 2021. He had a tent, a sleeping bag, a phone, and some spare parts for his bike. Other than some food and water, he didn’t have much else.
At first Liam’s parents weren’t too happy about him taking such a long bike trip by himself. But as he carried on, his parents became his strongest supporters.
Liam wasn’t too worried about the path that he took. “As long as I was going south every day, I was going in the right direction, “he said. By early December, he had reached Mexico.
Liam met challenges in Mexico. He was robbed (抢劫) there. At one point, he considered forgoing because the hot weather made biking very difficult. But things cooled down once he reached Central America, and he decided to keep going.
In all, he was robbed five times on the trip. He got very sick more than once. In Colombia, he had a bike accident that left him injured. In spite of it all, he kept going, through rain, sun, heat, cold, deserts and mountains.
Liam finally arrived in Ushuaia (乌斯怀亚), Argentina on January 10th, 2023—527 days after he started. He had traveled through 14 countries along the way.
When he gets home, he hopes to write a book about his adventures. He also hopes his experience will encourage others. He says, “The most important thing is getting the confidence in yourself. “

While you are walking on the street, you will notice more and more new energy vehicles(NEVs)( 新能源车) running on the roads. Many famous Chinese car makers have developed NEVs, such as BYD, Geely, Wuling and so on. In 2022, a total of 688.7 million new energy vehicles were sold in Chinese market. Why has NEV market had such a rapid growth in last few years? The main reason is that the buying of NEVs has been greatly supported by the local government, which has continued to reduce taxes(税) for NEVs these years. Besides, Chinese banks have offered a lot of policies to attract people to buy NEVs. For example, many banks have announced new loan(借贷) policies(政策) to allow NEVs buyers to borrow a larger part of the buying price.
When compared with patrol cars(燃油车), NEVs’ structure(结构) is much simpler. It can save a lot of cost in the daily maintenance(维修) of NEVs. Another advantage is the environment friendly, NEVs make fewer noises and less vibration(振动), which can make drivers have more comfortable driving experience. However, we have to admit there are still some problems with NEVs. For example, there are not enough charging piles(充电桩) and they need much time to charge(充电). The good news is that these problems are actually being improved, most of car owners in China said their next car will be an NEV, having a better driving experience and lower cost as the top reasons.
1. Thanks to Chinese government, the buying of NEVs has greatly reduced.2. The structure of NEVs is simpler than patrol cars.
3. Buyers need spend a lot of money on the maintenance of NEVs.
4. There isn’t any disadvantage of NEVs.
5. A lot of car owners will buy NEVs in the future.
