The young boy became interested in recycling after his dad took him to a local recycling center when he was three years old.
That experience made a deep impression on him. After that, Ryan decided to start his own recycling business. Later on, Ryan’s recycling company was born.
Ryan collects and sorts bottles and boxes from his neighbors. He and his parents give empty bags to their neighbors so that their neighbors can reduce their cycles(循环). Finally little Ryan takes the things that can’t be used now to the recycling center.
Since starting his own recycling business, his company has recycled more than 200,000 bottles and boxes. He has also tried to save $11,000 for college. In early 2019, Ryan’s recycling story went viral and he was even invited to be a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Ryan is very crazy about recycling, and he would like to get everybody else be interested in it as well,” said his mother. If you are inspired by Ryan Hickman’s little business, start recycling now.
Next time when you see a bottle on the ground, please pick it up.

A group of European scientists looked into (调查) about 35, 000 studies on bird nests. They found that birds have used man-made things in nests almost everywhere on Earth except Antarctica. Some rubbish seems to be helpful. This is why birds “like” putting it in their nests. For example, cigarette butts have special smell, so they can keep insects away and protect the baby birds. Plastic bags are useful in keeping the animals warm, and other hard things, such as paper cards, can make nests stronger.
However, in the end, human rubbish may only bring more harm to birds. The toxic (有毒的) chemicals in cigarettes hurt the baby birds. They may get sick or have shorter lives, according to a study.
To make matters worse, if the cigarette still burns when the bird brings it back to its home, it may set fire to the nest. Pieces of fishing net may also trap birds, and it’s impossible for them to get out by themselves. If the baby birds eat other kinds of rubbish by accident, they will also get hurt. Our bird friends in the air are feeling the bad effects of humans polluting the environment.

There is not too much drinking water in many parts of the world, so people think water shouldn't be used just to have fun. It's true that thousands of liters (公升) of water are used every day at a single water park. And there are nearly 2,000 water parks around the world, so that's a lot of water!
Water park operators understand that they need to save water, especially in places with dry climates (气候). One solution (解决方案) that has been developed is to recycle (再循环) water. Using special filters (过滤器), water parks are able to clean and reuse most of the water in their facilities (设施). Some indoor water parks are able to recycle as much as 97 percent of the water they use. Outdoor water parks lose water because of the sun. Building attractions in the shade (树荫) will help stop water from being lost. So new designs are being created in order to keep water in the pools and prevent it from being wasted.
Water parks attract (吸引) millions of people each year, so they aren't going away soon. If you think water is wasted at water parks, think about how much more water you have wasted so far! In that case, you could argue that water parks actually help save water.

At the picnic, Tom and Becky went into the caves with the other children. They took their candles and walked down a small tunnel. Then Tom saw a small opening he had never seen before. He decided to explore. Becky came with him. They made some marks on the wall. This would help them find their way back. They found a large cave with a spring in it. There were a lot of bats(蝙蝠)hanging on the roof. The bats did not like the candle light and attacked the children. Tom and Becky ran. They did not watch where they were going.
They tried to find a way back without going through the cave with bats. They were soon lost in the cave. They began to shout. Nobody answered.
Becky began to cry and Tom tried to make her feel better. Tom gave her a piece of cake he had in his pocket. He ate a small piece himself. They shouted again and sat down to wait. They did not know how long they had been there.
Then they heard somebody shouting. So they shouted back and tried to get closer. But nobody heard them. Then he saw Injun Joe, who was so frightened that he ran away.
Tom was afraid of Injun Joe, but he decided to try another tunnel. He saw a light. It was daylight coming through a hole in the roof. He climbed up to it. He got through it and was out. He went back to get Becky, and soon they were both out. When they finally got out of the cave, they were five miles away from the picnic ground. They had been in the cave for three days. On a beautiful spring afternoon,
I relax and lie down.
On the soft green grass,
Breathing in the fresh smell that I can feel all around.
My attention is taken up to the clouds.
For up there in the bright blue sky.
Is a fluffy white world of cotton candy animals?
And castles built with marshmallow bricks.
But I must be creative and take the time
To bring this world into focus,
So I take a breath,
And close my eyes just a little bit.
As a tiny, cotton ball mouse
Jumps out from a lion's house.
What a treat to spend my afternoon
With these newly found friends moving by!

Steve Taylor was in his room lying down for sleep while his mother Kate was taking a shower. She wanted to bathe before going to bed herself. The 5-year-old boy was just about to fall asleep when he heard a loud noise from the bathroom. He hurried to have a look.
When he got to the bathroom, he found his mother lying in the bathtub (浴缸) with blood coming from her head. She had an epileptic fit (癫痫发作) and didn’t know anything. However, little Steve kept a cool head.
He first went to his 2-month-old sister and put her in a blanket (毛毯), placing her on the sofa He then climbed up a chair to open the door.
