But to our surprise, my father didn’t punish John. He picked up the book and looked at it for a while. Without saying a word, he sat down and wrote something carefully beside John’s drawings. It said that John’s work. April 2nd, 1959. Then he walked to John and said with a smile, “Good guy. What a great thing you did! Now my book is priceless. Thanks for your drawings in my book.”

The years and the books came and went. From time to time, we opened the book, looked at the drawings, and read father’s words again and again.

Now I know what my father taught us deeply. Firstly, no matter how trouble the event is in life, it’ll gradually become better in the end. When we look at it from another side, we’ll realize how unforgettable it is. My father also taught us about what really matters in life. People not objects; tolerance (容忍) not judgment (判断); love not anger.

When I think about them, I will smile and speak softly, “Thank you, Dad.”

On January 13th, 2022, as a member of the Sunshine student reporter group, I went to Nanping City Park to have some street interviews. I asked some parents and kids about their opinions on the“Double Reduction”(双减) policy. Here’s what they said.

	I agree with the policy. My kids have more free time on weekends. My daughter, Xiao Wen, goes to learn ballet and my son, Xiao Tian, learns to play the piano. And we can have more family activities together. We often go hiking on weekends.
	Now I can do some reading or take up new hobbies in my spare time. I really like the policy, because doing these things can make us feel happy and relaxed.
	My son, Li Xiang, is in a middle school. He often finishes his homework at school, so he can read different books he likes at home. And he often helps us do some housework.
	We students have enough sleep every night. Good sleep keeps us active during the day. And on weekends we have more time to learn new skills and to do some volunteer activities.

At that time, they had to carry water from the river at the foot of the hill to halfway up the hill. Even though we worked so hard, the production level of fruit was still low because it was short of water there.

One day, two young men led a group of workers to our village. They learned about the difficulties we faced, and later, canal (水渠) and other projects began to be built in my village, “Who are they?” I asked. “They are good men from our government,” my grandma answered.

Shortly afterwards, I moved to another city for my junior high school. The only reason I ever came back to my hometown was my grandmother.

One day, my family and I made time to return. We were surprised because everything had changed. The canal ran past every orchard so villagers didn’t have to go up and down the hill anymore. The river was now so clean that fish swam happily in it. When we arrived home, my grandma took out some fresh pears and apples. She told us that after the water conservation project (水利工程) was completed, a policy was made to encourage more people to increase the fruit production with clean water in the river.

Thank those good men who have devoted themselves to the development of out countryside. Nowadays, people work hard to live in a big city. However, we should not forget our hometowns where we are from.

As we all know, Yue Fei is a famous anti-gold star. He is a national hero in many Chinese people’s hearts. Yue Fei was born in a village. His father was a farmer. The poor living conditions even made his four elder brothers dead. That’s why he was called Wulang. When he was ten years old, his parents were almost 50 years old. So he was not even able to study more but he was hard-working. He learned his martial art (武术) from Zhou Tong, who was known for his archery (骑射). Later, Yue Fei leaned spear (枪) from Chen Guang, who was also a very good teacher. Living in the difficult conditions, although he was not strong enough because of malnutrition, he tried his best to improve himself and finally became a man with strong power.

Yue Fei’s mother is also a common woman from village. However, she loved the country very much. After she heard that Yue refused to be a traitor, she felt very happy. One day, she said to her son, “Dear son, I am so pleased that you have done the right thing. I feel proud of you!” She asked Yue Fei to take off his coat and wrote four big Chinese characters “Jing Zhong Bao Guo”.

Later, Yue Fei was very brave and succeeded in many wars. Although he was persecuted(迫害)at last, his spirit lives forever in the heart of every Chinese.

Metros in the cities of Belo Horizonte and Recife have recently started female­only train cars.There have been female­only cars in Rio de Janeiro's trains for over a decade.
