1 . Times have changed, but falling asleep in class is still a common occurrence (常事) among students.

Why do students sometimes fall asleep in class? An obvious reason is lack of sleep. However, there are also causes for getting too little sleep.

Homework is a daily occurrence for most students, one that can take three to four hours per night. A student who wants to be able to take part in any activity besides homework must stay up late to fit everything in. Club activities, sports, computer-game playing, and TV viewing, for example, all make students have less time for both homework and sleep. Sometimes students lack sleep because of after-school jobs for their families.

Physical problems can also cause students to fall asleep in class. For example, insomnia (失眠), which may keep a student up at night, causing exhaustion (疲惫不堪) during class hours, is a serious problem. Medical evidence also supports the idea that each person has a body clock that helps to decide his or her sleep pattern. Unluckily, these body clocks don’t always work according to school timetables.

The effects of falling asleep in class can be quite serious. First of all, sleeping in class is not a good way to endear (使受喜爱) yourself to teachers. And other students may make jokes about those who sleep in class. However, the most harmful effect of sleeping in class is missing out on important points. In the long run, sleepers may end up failing classes.

Since students are probably not going to deal with the problem, falling asleep in class will probably remain an all-too-common occurrence. It will continue until more teens find a way to balance their personal and social lives with school and work on their own, while still finding enough time to sleep.

2 . Do you know a large number of young people are influenced by all kinds of choices today?     1

Scientists look on “mental internal friction (精神内耗)” as the confusion (混乱) that happens when people have to change their thoughts from “old ideas” to “new ideas”.     2     For example, “Are the new ideas good?” “Do they fit me?” or “Will they make me feel happy?” It is certainly not easy to discover the answers to these questions, especially when you are still too young to have enough life experience to make proper decisions.

3     First, face yourself. As the saying goes, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” You have to honestly think about your own personal habits, even fears and worries.     4     A friend of mine decided to learn Beijing Opera. This may sound strange, but he said learning about “old things” made it easier for him to deal with the “new things” of modern life and all those changes. And the third thing is to spend time with nature.     5     Being with nature takes some time, but it will help you know yourself and forget the pressure of your “mental internal friction”.

A.Second, develop new interests.
B.They have to ask themselves questions.
C.Society and technology may change, but nature remains the same.
D.It leads some young people to experience “mental internal friction”.
E.So there is some advice to help you cut down “mental internal friction”.

There is a piece of news that makes me angry. It is said that there was an event in a school that caused the death of students. This event made school bullying (校园霸凌) become a hot topic again. School is not only a place where we can learn something, but also a small society. Many children suffer from school bullying nowadays. So boycotting (抵制) school bullying is what everyone in school should do.

Factors (要素) about school bullying

Family education

Parents should educate their children well, give them a good guide and take care of them. As we all know, parents are the best teachers for children in this world. Therefore, we can’t expect a couple of selfish and violent parents will have a gentle and friendly child.

The responsibility of schools and teachers

Schools should try to avoid things like this. If the students are injured or dead, the schools have a responsibility to them. Teachers should have a sense of responsibility and carefully find the things that happen to their students and then educate and protect them in time.

The environment in the society

Society should control violent events. If the government can try its best and pay enough attention to the growth of teenagers, it will help avoid this terrible accident happening. Also, social media influence has gradually become an influential force that gives much negative shock to teenagers’ minds as well as behavior.

________

Teenagers should have a sense of justice and also have a heart for fighting against the evil. Don’t be feared. School bullying is just like a spring—you weak it will be strong, you strong it will be weak.

I think if we unite together to fight against the evil. Things like this should be avoided. The school will be peaceful and harmonious again!

Strawberries look nice, but a light pressure can make them out of shape. Nowadays there are many young people who are just like strawberries. They easily break down when they face difficulties. They don’t know what to do when they are in trouble. They have a common name—strawberry kids.

Why are many students so easy to break down? Parents and schools are a main reason. Some parents do almost everything for them in their daily life, while schools care more about their grades instead of developing their personality (个性). Liu Yue, 13, is from Fujian. His mom hardly criticizes (批评) him and he always feels good about himself. When a teacher criticized him strictly, he felt surprised and sad. He began to doubt his ability.

Students should do something to make themselves mentally strong. An expert said, “When you are in trouble, don’t ask for help too quickly. You should try to deal with the problems first by yourself. I also advise you to take an active part in sports and social activities. That can make you mentally strong.”

Growing up is not just a happy process. Pains also go along with it. The most important thing is to face the pains bravely and learn from them.

1. Some students are called “strawberry kids” because they all like to eat strawberries.
2. Some parents do almost everything for their children in their daily life.
3. According to the text, students should ask for help quickly when they are in trouble.
4. The writer advises students to be brave in the face of pains.

Get outside

Whatever the cause of your stress is, staying in that environment isn’t going to help much.

3    . The fresh air will not only cheer you up but will also calm down your nerves (神经).

Read a book

One of the best things about reading is that it gives you an escape from your daily-life problems and worries.     4     Reading not only encourages you but also brings you peace in mind. Go for light or self-improvement based(以……为基础) books as they are easy to read and you’d always end up learning a thing or two.
