Have you been quite forgetful lately? Have you been worried? If you are worried about losing keys and forgetting names, here are some ways for you.
Find out your own learning style
We all have our own ways of learning and remembering. Some of us have to say something out loud to remember it; others may have to write it down. Whatever your learning style is, accept it and find out a way that will work with it, whether it is written/audio notes (音频笔记) or some other ways.
Repeat a lot
Do something many times, and it is possible for you to remember it.
Repeating can help you turn short-term memory into long-term memory. It can feel a little silly writing down everything, or saying something to yourself 10 times in order to get through your day, but if it’s necessary, then go ahead and do it.
Avoid unnecessary distractions (干扰)
With each day bringing fresh bad news, we have more distractions than ever before. However, there are many ways you can cut down the number of distractions.
The first one is trying to use your mobile phone less. Some studies show Internet use is making our attention last shorter and our memory worse. Although it’s almost impossible to keep away from the Internet, using your mobile phone less can help.
The second one is to avoid doing many things at the same time. It has also been shown to influence long-term memory.

Henry, Paula and Millie write for the school newspaper. They have written the short articles below to help students improve their memory.
A great way to help you remember something is to imagine a picture of it in your mind. If you make the picture big, strange (奇怪的) or silly, you will remember it better. For example, we can image there is a mile between the first letter and the last letter. This makes it the longest word in the world. Remember: a picture is better than a thousand words.
—Henry
A good method for remembering the spelling of a word is to make a short sentence with each letter of the word. For example, if you want to remember how to spell the word “because”, you can use the sentence “Big elephants can always understand small elephants”.
—Paula
You will forget something very quickly unless you understand it well. For example, you may have trouble remembering the steps of the water cycle. However, it is easier to remember them if you understand how the water cycle works.

However, with the coming of Guyu-the Grain (谷物) Rain, the blue sky and gentle winds would finally stay. Guyu usually comes on or around April 20 every year, it is the sixth of the 24 solar terms (节气). It means the beginning of a lively summer and people get busy from now on.
Sow (播种) grains
This is an important period of the growth of grains. The ancient Chinese already knew that as Guyu comes, the weather will become warm enough for sowing. The farmers usually catch the chance to plant rice, corn and beans.
Hope for safety and harvest (收获)
For those living near the sea, they will hold some ceremonies (仪式) on Guyu, hoping for safety as well as harvest during the coming fishing season.
Watch the peony (牡丹)
It’s also a great time to see the peony, which is known as “the Queen of All Flowers” in Chinese culture. As a result, watching peonies becomes one of the most enjoyable activities for many people. The flower is said to be the favourite of Empress (女皇) Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty (唐朝), who was the only woman ruler in Chinese history.
Pick tea leaves
Tea leaves picked before Guyu are among the best tea leaves. People think that the tea leaves picked on the day of Guyu can make eyes clear and drive away bad luck. So the habit of drinking tea at this time of year has become a tradition in some places of China.

Studying is important to students. But it is always difficult to find enough time to study every subject you need. So a good plan helps you to make sure of your success in study.
Then, how to make a study plan? Well, you can begin with listing all the subjects you need to study and make sure what you need to do for each subject. Next, you should decide how much time you should spend on different subjects. Now, it is a good idea to study at the same time every day. In this way, you can remember your plan easily. While arranging (安排) time for each subject, you also need to make sure that you still have time for family, friends and rest. This is because you won’t be able to succeed in your studies unless you balance your personal life and your study.
Once the plan is made, the next thing you need to do is to follow it. One of the biggest challenges in following your study plan is that you will be tempted (诱惑) to avoid it and do something relaxing, or fun instead. Luckily, you can fight this temptation by taking breaks. But be sure not to take extra breaks or too long breaks as it can affect your plan. So at the start of your break, set an alarm clock to remind you when your break is over. Also, you need to use your break in a wise way. For example, go for a short walk, eat a small snack, or listen to some music.
To avoid forgetting to follow your plan, try to get into the habit of looking at your calendar every day. Sometimes our plans are hard to follow because some important people in our lives distract (使分心) us from our goals. In order to avoid this, tell people in your life about your plan. Put up a copy of your study guide at home so you and your family can see it, and email a copy to your friends so they know when you have spare time.

Dear Jim,
How’s it going back in Thailand? I’m having a good time in China. I am in the sports club at school this year. We’re taking classes to learn the lion dance.
The lion dance has a history of over 2,000 years. People in China usually perform (表演) the lion dance during the Spring Festival. They think the lion dance can drive away bad luck and bring good luck for the new year.
There are usually two people in the dance. One is the head and the other is the tail (尾巴). It takes a lot of practice to work as a team and team the steps (步子)! I’m learning to dance as the head. It’s not easy for me to remember all of the steps. But I enjoy the lion dance and I’m trying my best. Next month, we will perform at our school’s art festival. It’s really great, right?
Yours,
Sarah
