①Since the first man looked up at the flying birds, countless successes have been achieved on the way up to the sky. From the stones thrown into the air to airships of all kinds, pioneers of humans never failed to let their imagination run wild.

②Stories of pioneers go back to centuries ago.

③Kite flying in China dates back to the 5th century BC and is thought to be the earliest example of man-made flight.

④From the 3rd century BC, the sky lantern (灯笼) was known in China. Many people believe that it was invented by Zhuge Liang in the war. Some say he wrote a message on a sky lantern for help, while others believe sky lanterns were used to drive the enemies away.

⑤Whichever is true, humans have never stopped, and they never will. In modern times, new fields are being explored (探索).

⑥In 1993, the world’s largest hot air airship was built. The AS-300 carried an underslung raft (悬挂式木筏). It allowed a team of French scientists to carry out their treetop researches without too much harm to the rain forest.

⑦On May 15, 2022, Chinese scientists sent up the latest model of “Jimu No.1”, China’s self-developed airship, to collect weather information on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

⑧The airship would work at a world-record altitude (海拔) of 9,032 meters. It was the first time an airship of its size had reached this height, even higher than that of the 8,849-meter-tall Mount Qomolangma, the highest mountain in the world.

文章大意:本文主要介绍了日本的Ichijo Komuten最近展示了一种抗洪的房子,介绍了这种房子的优势以及工作原理。

【推荐1】①Whether you believe in climate change or not, the loss of housing due to floods is a big problem all over the world, and while engineers have been trying to find solutions, few have actually worked.

②Now Japanese housing developer Ichijo Komuten recently showed a “flood-resistant (抗洪) house” that can not only remain waterproof (防水) during floods but also float off the ground. He comes up with an answer to keep people’s homes from getting flooded as well as swept away by floods. Their new “flood-resistant house” was recently shown on a popular Japanese TV show and has received much attention online ever since.

③ Japan’s TV station recently visited one of Ichijo’s test sites where the company’s new flood-resistant house was being put through a flood. Although it looked just like a common house when the test began, by the time that water started rising around it, viewers could see the structure leave the ground and finally float a few inches above it.

④How does the “flood-resistant house” work? It has special vents (通风口) that close up in the event of flooding, and the plumbing (管道) also has special valves (阀门) that prevent water from getting into the home. Electrical equipment like air conditioning is positioned on the upper half of the building to make sure that water doesn’t reach it.

⑤What’s more, Ichijo’s newest invention prevents the house from being swept away. The house is connected to a number of thick iron rods (铁棒) sticking out of the ground with thick cables that ensure it stays in place as the water floods past. When the waters recede, the floating house comes back down in its own position.

⑥According to engineers, most homes flood when water reaches the window level, but because their flood-resistant house can float up to five meters above ground, water is unlikely to reach the windows, and everything else is shut. It works quite well.

1. What’s the writing purpose of this passage?
A.To introduce the flood-resistant house to people
B.To show the history of flood-resistant house.
C.To explain the importance of flood-resistant house.
D.To ask people offer advice on flood-resistant house
2. According to passage, flood-resistant house is a house which ________.
A.looks different from others at first
B.can leave the ground and float above it
C.gets little attention online
D.can’t go back down its own place
3. The Para. 4 mainly tells us ________.
A.what the flood-resistant house is like
B.where the flood-resistant house is shown
C.who invented the flood-resistant house
D.how the flood-resistant house works
4. From the passage, we can infer that ________.
A.the house cannot prevent water from getting inside
B.the house may get more and more popular in the future
C.it will be expensive to buy the house
D.all the people would like to buy the house

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了人们受珊瑚的启示利用现代技术制造可以自然生长的建筑材料。

【推荐2】①Corals (珊瑚) can produce CaCO3 under their bodies. This turns into hard, rock-like reefs which become homes to 25 percent of all sea life. What if our homes can also naturally grow, just like reefs?

②US company Biomason produces a new kind of concrete (混擬土) called Biolith, using bacteria that can make CaCO3. They first mixed sand and bacteria in a mould (模具), and then added nutrient solution (培养液) to keep the bacteria alive. Five days later the Biolith bricks “grew up” and were ready to use. That’s much faster than producing traditional concrete, which requires about 28 days.

③According to the company, this method can greatly cut down carbon emissions in the building industry. Traditional concrete is made of small stones. The stones are heated to temperatures greater than 1, 300°C, during which carbon dioxide comes out. A company, McKinsey & Company, reported that the concrete production industry accounts for 4.5 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions.

④Biolith, however, doesn’t need heating so it’s more environmentally friendly. The company plans to reduce 25 percent of carbon emissions from the concrete industry by 2030.

⑤There are other similar technologies, but they are not in production yet. The University of Colorado in the US is studying a living, recyclable building material using cyanobacteria (蓝藻细菌). It can use CO2 and sunlight to grow and help get carbon. NASA is trying to grow buildings out of fungi (菌类) on the Moon and Mars, which may lead to more sustainable ways of living on the Earth.

1. What are the steps of making Biolith?
a. Put the mixture in a mould.             b. The bricks grow up.
c. Add nutrient solution.                    d. Mix sand and bacteria.
A.abcdB.aedbC.dcabD.dacb
2. Why is Biolith greener than traditional concrete?
A.Because the growth of Biolith is faster.
B.Because Biolith doesn’t have the process of heating.
C.Because producing Biolith gives off carbon dioxide in the air.
D.Because the growth of Biolith doesn’t give out any heat.
3. What’s the structure of the story?
A.B.
C.D.
4. What’s the main idea of the passage?
A.New technologies make it possible to live on the moon.
B.Corals are homes to all sea life.
C.Researchers use bacteria to “grow” houses.
D.US company thinks of ways to make nutrient solution.

文章大意:本文主要介绍了蓝牙的发展过程。

【推荐3】If you look around the room you are in right now, you’ll probably notice a number of electronics. But can you imagine if they all had to be joined together by wires (电线)? Picture the wire snaking along the floor, for example, from your smartphone to your speaker, or connecting your game controller to the computer screen, meaning you could never sit more than a couple of meters away from it. A world of electronics connected by wires wouldn’t just be untidy, but a possible danger, too. That’s where Bluetooth comes in. We’ve all heard of it — but what exactly is it?

Bluetooth is a method of short-distance (短距离) wireless communication between electronics that makes use of the power of radio waves. The idea was first thought of by Dr. Janp Haartsen at Swedish mobile company Ericsson in 1994. Things really stepped up in September 1998 when the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) was set up to develop and spread the technology. Bluetooth 1.0 came out in 1999, and a year later it began to be used in mobile phones and desktop computers. Now Bluetooth has become an increasingly popular way of solving the problem of more and more electronics needing to be connected. without having to connect everything together with wires.

But if you look at the remote control (温控器) you use to choose the program on TV, you might rightly ask yourself why Bluetooth was such a big deal. After all, connecting objects with infrared signals (红外信号) which can’t be seen had been done before. The problem with remote controls is that they need to keep what is called “line of sight”. If something is standing between the remote control and receiver, it won’t work. Because Bluetooth uses radio waves, the things standing in the way are no longer a problem.

Since its creation in the late 1990s, the technology has become more and more improved and widely used, with the 4 billionth Bluetooth objects shipped in 2020.

1. How does the writer lead in the topic “Bluetooth” in Paragraph 1?
A.By describing scenes.B.By comparing facts.C.By telling stories.D.By explaining reasons.
2. With the setting up of SIG, Bluetooth ________.
A.started to be used in carsB.made radio waves known to people
C.improved and spread quicklyD.was able to connect all electronics
3. From Paragraph 3, we mainly get to know the ________ of Bluetooth.
A.developmentB.popularityC.standardD.advantage
4. ________ will most probably be interested in this text.
A.Phone sellersB.Technology fansC.Newspaper reportersD.History lovers
