People’s life is becoming better and better. People often travel around to relax themselves and enjoy the natural beauty. However, when you are in foreign countries, you’d better understand some cultures. Here are some tips for staying safe abroad.
Don’t step on money in Thailand
In many countries, the images of the great people (such as presidents, chairpersons) are printed on the money. In Thailand it states that it’s a serious offence to insult(侮辱) any image of the Thai royal family(皇室). Actually, it’s a criminal(犯罪的) act to step on it and you could be put into prison(坐牢).
No chewing gum(口香糖)
Equally offensive in Thailand is throwing gum on the floor. There’s a 400 pounds fine(罚款) or possibly jail(牢狱) if you don’t pay up. It’s a similar story in Singapore where, by law, chewing gum can’t be bought or sold.
No swimming clothes in the city
In Barcelona(巴塞罗那), Spain, it was made illegal to wear swimwear anywhere in public away from the beach in 2011. A fine of around 100 pounds will be yours if you wear swimming clothes. Local people were very unhappy with the tourists wearing swimming costumes walking around the city.
Don’t pee(小便) in the sea
Don’t relieve yourself in the ocean in Portugal(葡萄牙). It’s against the law and you must search for the bathroom if you have a must.
Check your medicine
Japan has strict anti-stimulant drug laws(反兴奋剂药物法规), so you must be careful with your medicine, even the medicine you need when you have a cold might be stopped at the airport.

Do you want to spend a 10-day visit at the International Space Station? We have interviewed teenagers from around the world. They have different opinions about space trip.

Ben from Canada “I think space travel is really bad for the space environment. We are sending more objects into space. When two objects in space crash, they break into smaller pieces and become space junk floating around. It's very dangerous for the tourists to travel in spaceship! ” |
Maria from Germany “Whether you like it or not, space trip is going to be an important thing in the future. It's a great idea to travel in space. I hope in 50 years' time that taking a holiday in space will be common. I'd really love to do it.” |
Yoko from Japan “Why do we want to travel into space? I'd rather go on holiday and stay in a hotel. It must be very boring to sit for hours in that small space shuttle(舱). I'd like to take a plane and go to another place on the earth.” |

Service dogs almost never leave the side of the people they care for. You will see them working on buses, trains and other public systems. But the busy environment found at an airport can cause dogs ants in their pants even the best trained working ones. People with disabilities depend on their dogs. They want the animals to safely guide them through safety areas. They also need the dogs to remain calm on duty on the airplane, even when the flying is not smooth. This takes special training.
The Air Hollywood K9 Flight School is one place where such help can be found. The school has a piece of equipment(设备) that provides the sights, sounds and even the feel of an airplane in flight. Dog trainers say training is based on a simple rule: preparation. Dogs need to be trained gradually to the environment, to loud noises, to sounds and other dogs so that when this experience happens to them on a daily basis, they're able to act in a way that they're used to acting and that they don't get excitable. Dog owners who attended the training at Air Hollywood K9 Flight School say they now feel much more at ease about future flights . Their dogs also seem ready for take—off.
