If you are going to apply for a job, be prepared for the kinds of interviews you can expect. One type of interviews is the telephone interview. Here are some tips for telephone interviews:
________. Before the interview, guess and write down the questions you might be asked. Practice the answers orally until you are satisfied with yourself. The questions can be about your working experiences, skills and achievements.
Keep your notes handy. Have any key information next to the phone, including your notes about the company and the questions you have prepared for. Then you can easily get the information you need. In this way, you will sound more prepared.
Avoid salary topics. When you are asked how much money you would expect, it’s not wise if you give no response. But it’s not right to give an exact number at once. Try to be open to discussion, so you’d better say something like, “If this is the right job for me, I believe we can come to an agreement on salary.”
Push for a face-to-face meeting. At the end of the interview, don’t forget to sell yourself. You can say something like, “I am very interested in your company. If possible I’d be really happy to see some of your managers. I am free either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. Which would be better for you?”
Try to rearrange surprise interviews. If you receive an interview call without any expectation, you can politely ask them to arrange another time for the interview, so you can be better prepared. Try something like, “I am sorry but I can’t do it right now. Can I call you back tomorrow after work, at 6 p.m.?”
After the telephone interview, only a few are left for face-to-face interview, so get prepared and good luck!

For example, Three-River-Source National Park, located(位于)on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(高原), is the largest national park in China. Covering 190,700 square km, it is about 14 times the area of Yellowstone National Park in the United States. It is home to the sources of the Yangtze, Yellow and Lancang rivers, so people call it “China’s water tower”.
Giant Panda National Park, on the other hand, connects panda habitats(栖息地)in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu. There are more than 1,600 wild giant pandas inside the park, accounting for more than 70 percent of the pandas in China.

The effect(影响)of a conversation between a child and an adult is about six times as great as the effect of adult speech input alone, the researchers found. "Adults speaking to children helps language develop, but what matters much more is the interaction(交流)," said the study`s lead author, Frederick Zimmerman, an associate professor in the School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles. The researchers also found that TV viewing didn't have much of an effect-positively or negatively-as long as it wasn't displacing conversations between an adult and a child.
The UCLA study included 275 families with children between 2 months and 48 months old. They represented a variety of incomes(收入)and education. The researchers found that, in an average day, children hear about 13,000 spoken words from adults and took part in about 400 adult-child conversations a day.
Factors(因素)positively associated with language development included each additional(额外的)100 conversations a day and each 1,000 word increase in the number of words spoken by adults and heard by children. When looked at alone, TV was negatively associated with language development. But, when the three factors were put together, the only one that stood out was conversation between adults and children.
"The more a child speaks and interacts with an adult, the better idea a parent has about where the child is," Zimmerman said. "Although it' s mostly done unconsciously(无意识地), parents will provide more information and correct mistakes. They'll also tailor their speech to the child. Parents can give a child words by talking to them about what they're doing, such as, ‘I' m putting on your pajamas now.’ But give your child the opportunity to talk, hopefully without the rest of the noise in the environment," she added. "If parents can spare some conversation time—maybe at bath time or at dinner time—that's a wonderful thing.

A CCTV program, News One Plus One, reported that the food Chinese people throw away every year is well enough to feed 200 million people for a year.
Do we have too much food? Of course not. According to the UN World Food Program, there were 925 million hungry people around the world in 2015, especially in developing countries. Six million children die of hunger every year.
Chinese people are well known for being hospitable(好客的) and generous. Many even feel that they lose face if their guests have eaten all the food on the table.
Luckily, plenty of people know the importance of saving food. Last November, Li Hong, a waitress in a restaurant in Nanjing, got fired (解雇)because she took some leftover food home for her son. Many people stood by her and criticized(批评) the waste of food.
What should we do in our daily lives to waste less food? Here are some tips:
1) Do not order too much in a restaurant. Only order as much as you want to eat. If you cannot eat all the food you ordered, take the rest of it home.
2) Don’t be too picky(挑剔的) about food. Some food may not taste great, but your body needs it.
3) Keep an eye on what food you have at home. Don’t buy too much, especially for vegetables and fruit.
