One afternoon, Andrew, a 13-year-old boy, went to a shopping mall together with his father. They were chatting happily and making their way through the crowded food market. Suddenly, they heard a sharp cry—a young lady holding a number of bags fell over. Then all the things in the bags were thrown across the floor.
Andrew watched for a while, and went on. But then he found his father wasn’t with him. Looking around, he noticed his father bending down and helping the lady pick up the things. Feeling a little bad for not trying to stop and help, Andrew simply stood there and waited.
Soon, the father handed the lady all her things. However, the lady simply took them away, even without looking at him. Finally, she said, “I can do it myself!” Andrew was shocked when seeing the lady’s impolite act.
Even in the sports store, Andrew spent most of the time complaining (抱怨). Later at dinner, Andrew told his mother the whole story, expecting her to join him in complaining. Unexpectedly, his mother just kept smiling. Finally, she looked at her husband who was happily enjoying his meal and said, “Son, your father left that woman behind hours ago. Why are you still with her?”
Andrew’s face suddenly turned red! It’s okay to show anger and unhappiness. However, don’t let them affect (影响) you and how you see the world. Remember: the best way to stay happy is to let things go!

My grandmother did not answer, but I saw something strong in her eyes. “I’ll pay you $5 if you eat them, ”she said.
I sat there still. In my mind, $5 was a huge, nearly unimaginable amount(数量) of money, and as terrible as peas were, only one plate of them stood between me and that $5. I began to eat them.

From an early age she had made an effort to be kind and friendly to everyone. She invited the whole class to her birthday party, and from time to time she would give presents to everybody. She felt very lucky; no other student had so many friends at school.
But everything changed on National Friendship Day. On that day, in class everyone had to make three presents to give to their three best friends. Everyone came and tried to console (安慰) her for a while. But each one only stayed for a short time before leaving.
When she got home that night, Fiona asked her mother where she could find true friends. “Fiona, my dear,” answered her mother. “You’re a lovely girl, but you can’t be a close friend to everybody. You cannot buy friends with a smile or a few good words.”
Hearing this, Fiona thought about her mother. Her mother was always ready to help her, and she bore all of Fiona’s dislikes and problems, and she always forgave (原谅) her, and she loved her a lot... That was what makes friends! Fiona smiled from ear to ear, realizing that she already had the best friend anyone could ever want.

All the students sat up straight and waited for the test to begin. The teacher began to give the test paper to all the students. After he finished handing out the test paper, he asked them to begin.
The students were very surprised to see that there was not a question but a black dot (圆点) in the center of the paper.
