One sunny Monday, I decided to go for a walk with my husband. I was wearing a special diamond (钻石) ring that day. It was my 20th birthday gift from my grandmother.
As we were walking in the park, I unintentionally looked down at my hand and found the diamond on my ring was missing. I was really worried so I went back to look for it. I knew how small the chances were of finding it, but I still wanted to give it a try.
As I was fixing my eyes on the ground, I ran into an old gentleman by accident. “What’s wrong, love?” he asked nicely. “Sorry that I ran into you,” I said,“But I lost something. I’m really worried.”I explained about the missing diamond and showed him the hole in my ring. “That’s not going to be easy to find it,” he said. “Tell you what, love, I take a walk here every day. I’ll keep my eyes open for it.” I thanked him expecting nothing.
A few days later, my husband and I met the old man again in the park.“Guess what,” he said. “I found your diamond!” I couldn’t believe what I saw when the gentleman handed the diamond back to me. Then my husband offered him money for his help, but he refused.
The old man could have easily kept the diamond or sold it, as it’s worth several thousand dollars. But he didn’t. All I have to do is to look at my ring and remind myself that there are still kind and generous souls out there. Now thanks to this man, I'll spend more time trying to do something nice for other people.

He began by drawing a man standing in the middle of a circle. To make it more interesting, he drew things like a house, a car, and a few friends inside the circle.
He asked the question, “Can anyone tell me what this is?” In a long silence, one guy decided to throw out, “The world?” The trainer said, “That’s close. Actually, this is your Comfort Zone. Inside your circle, you have all the things that are important to you. Your home, your family, your friends and your job. People feel that inside this circle they are safe from any danger.”
“Can anyone tell me what happens when you step out of this circle?” A strong silence came over the room. The same guy finally started, “You are afraid.” Another guy said, “You make mistakes.” The silence continued and the trainer smiled and said, “When you make mistakes, what can the result be?” The first guy shouted, “You learn something.”
“Exactly, you are learning.” The trainer turned to the board and drew an arrow (箭头) pointing from the man to the outside of the circle. He continued to say, “When you leave your Comfort Zone, you put yourself out there, in front of the world to be in situations that you are not comfortable with. The end result is that you have learned something that you did not know and you slowly become a better person.” He turned again to the board and drew a bigger circle around the first one, and added a few new things like more friends, a bigger house,...

Saying “I am sorry” means apologizing. It is not always easy to apologize to someone, but it can help make things better.
Sometimes we do things we should not do. You might fight with a friend and say bad things to her. You might break a rule at school. When you know you did something wrong, apologizing is the right thing to do.
Sometimes accidents happen. You might step on someone’s foot by accident. It is still a good idea to apologize. You can apologize like this, “I wish that did not happen.”
Sometimes you do not start the conflict (纠纷). You might get angry and throw your classmate’s book down the hall if he says something bad to you. You might think, “I did not start it, so I don’t have to apologize.” The student was wrong to say bad things to you, but it’s not right for you to throw his book. You should also apologize for what you did wrong.
Apologizing when you aren’t sorry does not help much. Take some time to calm down and think about what happened. Then try apologizing. You will feel better about yourself and you will know you did the right thing. So, apology can make the world harmonious (和谐).
