Holidays play an important part in our life. We work hard during the year, so we feel tired and stressed at times. We need holidays to relax, even if they only last for a few days. This is especially true for women. They could get away from their husbands, children and family for even one week in the year.

Holidays have many good results. Firstly, they can improve the economy (经济). If there were no holidays. people would have little time to spend their money. Secondly, holidays allow people to relax after working hard a whole year. During and after the holidays, people feel more relaxed and are full of energy; they then bring this energy to work when they continue working. Lastly, holidays help people learn how to enjoy life. Most people improve their relationships with their other family members during holidays.

However, holidays also have some bad sides. People couldn’t enjoy travelling because of the heavy traffic. Besides, people couldn’t have fun shopping because of too many people.     

Anyway, most people realize that they need holidays. I can’t imagine what people’s lives would be like if there were no holidays.

Every time you cat seafood, you get red spots（红点）on your body. And every spring and fall, your friend gets a runny nose when you play in the garden. What’s going on? Well, you and your friend may have allergies（过敏）.

An allergy is a reaction from your immune system（免疫系统）. The immune system keeps you away from diseases by fighting germs（细菌）. But when you have allergies, it overreacts（过度反应）and tries to fight against things like grass, pollen or some foods. This makes your body feel uncomfortable.

Allergies are common around the world. According to the WHO, about 20 percent of the world’s population suffers from allergies.

Food allergies are one of the most common types. Many children can be allergic to food like milk, eggs and peanuts. If you are allergic to certain foods, you may get red spots, an upset stomach or even have difficulty breathing. So far, people haven’t found any good ways to stop food allergies. Just do not eat those foods as much as possible.

Seasonal allergies happen in most parts of the world. So how do you know if you are allergic to something? Skin（皮肤）tests are the most widely used way.

Bullying (欺凌) is a serious problem at school. It makes students feel lonely, unhappy and afraid. It makes them feel like there must be something wrong with them. Some kids are even unwilling to go to school. In other words, it’s very important not to let bullying harm your life！

Okay, so there you are, and someone is bullying you, what do you do “in the moment”?

   Ignore (忽视) the bully. Don’t even look at him. Walk right past him if you can.

   Don’t get sad or angry. Even if you’re feeling really hurt, don’t let it show. That’s the bully’s goal. You can talk about or write down your reaction later.

   Turn and walk away, or run if you have to. Remove yourself from the situation. Go to a place where an adult is present.

   If you’re being called names, imagine that you’re inside a huge fish tank (罐) filled with white fog. Nothing touches you. Practise by thinking of the worst things a bully can say to you, then letting the fog eat them up.

   If you’re being bullied again and again, there’s one “Most Important Thing” you should do:   Talk to an adult. Start with your parents. If the bullying happens at school, make sure your parents discuss it with a school official, not with the parents of the bully. Make it clear to the adult that you are really worried about what’s going on. This is especially true if the bullying is verbal (言语的) bullying.

What would you do if you felt anxious(焦虑的)? Would you feel better if other people could share their experience with you? In the United States, two teenage girls set up a mental health camp called Healing(治愈) Hearts to help people deal with anxiety.

The idea of creating the camp came from Dinah Martinez, 17, and her schoolmate Janet Martinez, 18. Both girls suffered from anxiety in the past.

The girls’ camp idea got support from Girls Leading Our World(GLOW) in the US. The organization awarded them $5,000 to put on the camp for other teenage girls.

On the first day of the camp, 10 girls were there. Experts at the camp talked about anxiety. They helped girls who were experiencing anxiety. The girls learned how to calm themselves down when they are anxious. They learned about calming methods like deep breathing and guided mediation(调节).

Everyone needs a place to relax, right?

Now young students suffer as much stress as adults do. They face competition, interpersonal relationships and personal problems as adults do. But adults have more social experience and can deal with problems with more self-control. For students, sometimes they have no choice but to rebel（叛逆）.

Faced with such a situation, a middle school in Xi’an, northwest China’s Shanxi Province, recently opened its “mood drain room（情绪发泄室）”, a place for students to lift their spirits.

The room provides students with classes to guide their mental（心理的）health development. It’s also a place for practice where students can express the feelings by doing things like boxing（拳击）or shouting.

There are also mental health teachers in the room who help students with questions and also watch them for safety reasons.

Designers have considered different personalities of students when designing these activities. No matter it’s a boy or a girl who shows up, they can put on a pair of boxing gloves to hit a sandbag or shout out loud to relax. A drawing wall and a “writer’s and reader’s corner” are for shy students.

“I wish my school had such a room. But I would feel a little bit shy going there to shout out loud by myself. I like the room to have different theme activities every week so that I feel more comfortable going there,” Xingyuan, a Chinese middle school student shared her opinions.

“What matters is that it should be used in a right way, unlike the place where my son goes to cut classes and box against his classmates. It needs to have professional teachers.” said Li, a parent of a middle school student.
