There was a lovely vegetable patch(菜园). A large tree grew there. Both the patch and the tree gave the place a wonderful look, and they were the pride of the gardener. But no one knows that the vegetables and the tree couldn’t stand each other. The vegetables hated the tree’s shadow(阴影), because it left them only just enough light to live. The tree, on the other hand, hated the vegetables because they drank nearly all the water, leaving him just enough to live.
The situation became so serious that the vegetables decided to use up all the water in the ground so that the tree would die. The tree answered back by not protecting the vegetables from the hot sun, so they began to dry up. Soon the vegetables were really weak, and the tree was drying up.
The gardener wondered why and stopped watering them. When he did that, both the tree and the vegetables realized that it was better to help each other. They learned how to live in harmony with those around them. So they decided to work together, using both the shade and the water to grow well. Before they came to visit, Joe got his home ready for the children: cleaning the house and buying their favorite food. But while he was working, he lost his favorite watch. The watch was a gift from his wife. She died when their first child was born. Joe loved the watch very much. He was sad.
When his grandchildren came, they told Joe that they would find the watch. One granddaughter asked, "Grandpa, do you remember when you saw the watch last before it went missing?" Joe answered, "I think when I was cleaning the barn (谷仓)."

Joe was very surprised and asked how he was able to find it. The little boy answered, "I sat there without making a noise, and the barn was so quiet. After a few minutes, I heard the' tick, tick' sound and found the watch." Joe hugged him and thanked the little boy.

The movie came out on March 17, 2017. It tells how a cursed (被诅咒的)man-beast is changed into a handsome prince by the love of Belle.
To play the lead role in Beauty and the Beast, Waston turned down the offer of Land, which won six awards including the Best Actress at this year's Oscars. However, she does not regret it. She told Vanity Fair that she believes the movie says something that is important for people to hear.
This is not her first time being invited to play a Disney princess. She refused the offer to play Cinderella. But she happily took on Belle because she saw her as a better role model. Belle doesn't mind Beast’s ugly appearance and sees his good heart within. “She remains curious, compassionate (富有同情心)and open-minded,” she told Total Film.
“She is not easily changed by other people’s ideas.”
But to build her own version of Belle, Waston had a hand in shaping the character. She wanted Belle to be busy instead of just playing in the castle all day. So she had the idea of turning Belle into an inventor, like her father. And Belle even made a washing machine herself, though people broke it. She wanted it to free girls from housework and allow them to learn how to read. She told Entertainment Weekly that people breaking the washing machine was symbolic of people breaking Belle’s spirit and pushing her to become the woman they wanted her to be.

He wants to help spread knowledge through comic books. The 37-year-old thinks that information could be more interesting through the exaggerated (夸张的) facial expressions and funny dialogue of comic characters.
Chen published his first comic book about Chinese history in 2017. Now, Chen’s brand “ErHunzhi” has millions of followers on social media platforms. “When I was in middle school, I had no interest in history, ” Chen said, “I couldn’t remember historical facts even though I studied hard.” However, in college, Chen played a computer game about World War II, which sparked his interest in history. The experience made him question why he loved studying but still couldn’t get good results in exams. “I didn’t master effective learning methods,” Chen said, “or my interest hadn’t been aroused.”
In 2015, Chen decided to start his own educational comic book business. Working with others, he’s made comic books on topics including how contagious (传染的) diseases have affected people and about the history of the Communist Party of China. In making comics, Chen says it’s important to be creative. “You must have your unique understanding and presentation to attract readers,” he said. For example, he compared the Eastern Zhou Dynasty as a class, and the State of Qi as the class monitor, with other States being the rest of the students. They always argued with each other. I learned to carry my master on my back and pull a coach. I learned to wear reins(缰绳) and a bit in my mouth. I did not like them, but all of the horses had to wear them.
My master had two horses. One of them was Ginger. She was not friendly. She bit and kicked people.
Ginger and I pulled a coach together. The coachman’s name was John. Ginger and I worked very hard. We became friends.
Ginger told me about her life when she was young. She told me, “My master was not kind to me. My reins and bit hurt me. My master didn’t care.”
Squire Gordon and his men felt sorry for Ginger. They were always kind to her. She stopped biting and kicking people. She became a happy horse.
One day in autumn, Squire Gordon went on a long journey. John went with him and I pulled the coach. The weather was rainy and windy. Mr. Gordon and John could not see well in the rain. We came to a bridge. I stopped. “Something is wrong,” I thought. I didn’t want to go on to the bridge. Mr. Gordon and John wanted me to go on to the bridge. I didn’t move. Just then a man saw us. “Stop!” he cried.
“The bridge is broken in the middle. If you go on to it, you are all going to drown in the river.”
“Thank God!” said the Squire.
Then John said, “Black Beauty saved our lives. He knew the bridge was dangerous.”
When we returned home, Squire Gordon told his wife, “We are all safe, thanks to Black Beauty.”
That night, I was glad though I was very tired.
