Many people like to go diving(潜水)when they are on holiday. Jenney, a 14-year-old girl, is getting ready to have a special dive with sharks in the sea of Florida. It’s really expensive for her to do it. Sounds crazy?

Shark diving is a big business in some places and that’s raising a question about how close people should get to them. Some brave divers think it is no problem for them to get close to sharks. Divers   in Florida, for example, often have fun with lemon sharks, which have attacked people a few times before. On the other side, many people are against shark diving. They think no one should go diving with sharks. And it is foolish to feed sharks while diving and bring them close to busy beaches.

Bob Dimond has been a diver for 30 years. He’s worried that sharks may lose their fear of humans. “The reason why people feed sharks is to attract them, but people don’t want to be sharks’ food. However, when sharks learn to connect humans with food, they approach to see if they can find something to eat, Bob says.“ That’s reason enough to stay away from sharks.”

Bob has created the Marine(海洋的)Safety Group. He and his friends believe if people feed a wild animal, they will increase the chance to be attacked. Therefore, their goal is to stop all shark feeding. In fact, shark feeding has never been directly associated with an attack on a human. When a shark strikes, it is usually“hit and run”. It bites and then quickly releases the person and disappears.

Obviously, sharks make shark diving so attractive. For divers such as Jenney, diving with sharks is a once-in-a-life experience. Jenney says,“I actually had a chance to lie down on the bottom of the ocean and the sharks were right in front of me. And I could see their mouths and their eyes and feed them. I used to know only a little about sharks, but now I want more teenagers to join me.”

What things make you laugh? There are many things that make us smile or burst into laughter. This natural show of emotion gives off signals that we are happy and we find something humorous. Experts have been looking at why we do it and what the benefits are.

Laughter is a very common way of making a sound. When we do it, we make very strange noises and snorts (鼻息声). Most of the time our laughter is unconscious (无意识的) and easy to spread, particularly between friends. Expert, Sophie Scott, told the BBC that it’s a social emotion. “It’s better to laugh with people we like.” She defines (定义) two types of laughter—spontaneous (自发性的) laughter, where we laugh freely, and laughter while talking—where we laugh together with friends. Research found, on average, people laugh seven times for every ten minutes of conversation.

The BBC World Service program Crowd Science checked the science of laughter. It wanted to know what caused this action. It found we use laughter to show others that we’re being playful and non-threatening, and this serves to make and keep social bonds (纽带). Also, people outside of our social group can understand the relationship between the laughter by the sound of our chuckles.

Research has found good laughter can relax our bodies. That’s why laughter is being used as a useful method to traditional treatments. But generally, our ability to laugh is out of our control. When you start doing it, just go with the flow and others will join in.

1. If there’s something interesting, we may laugh to show that we are ______________.
2. Usually, our laughter is unconscious and can ______________ easily.
3. Crowd Science shows laughter can help to build and keep ______________.

Cover your burned skin (皮肤)

If the sun has already hurt your skin, what can you do? It’s important to cover the burned part with comfortable clothes. And keep wing sunscreen if you have to go outside again!

Take cool baths or showers

You may want to cool your skin to take away that burning feeling. So take a cool shower or bath, trying not to wash the burned area with soaps (肥皂).

Use a lotion (护肤液)

There are lots of after-sun lotions to use, which is good for making your skin comfortable. You should also try not to scratch (挠) your sunburn, because this could damage the new skin growing there.
