Yunnan, a magical place with amazing biodiversity (生物多样性), is home to plants, insects and animals of different kinds. The 25 ethnic (少数民族的) groups enrich its culture as well.
Kunming, the capital of Yunnan, is also known as the Eternal Spring City, and as “the City of Flowers” around the world. The reason why Kunming is the flower center is because of the pleasant weather in Yunnan and the soil is perfect for growing flowers. Every year, a large number of people come to this city to revel in its sea of colors. Dounan Flower Market is the largest flower trading market in Asia which is almost five football fields in size, selling nearly 1, 600 kinds of flowers.
In the southern most point of Yunnan, there are wild Asian elephants living with the local people in the tropical (热带的) rainforest in Xishuangbanna. And it is the most well-protected ecosystem in China.
Pu’er is widely known for tea and it is grown on the side of the mountains. When the tea leaves are ready, they are picked leaf by leaf with hand and sent for processing. And then the tea is sent to many different countries and places around China. The tea ceremony(茶道)is getting more and more popular, and it’s also a very important part of business in Yunnan.

In the past, people in Sunshine Village had little food and few clothes, but they had a strong wish for a better life. “In the ancient Chinese story, Yu Gong could move mountains with his strong will and hard work, why can’t we? Nobody was born to be poor. “The villagers decided to make a difference. They carried water and soil to their village from faraway places to improve their land. They opened lots of land for growing crops and set up some factories. Their lives were greatly improved.
However, the village faced a new problem twenty years later. Pollution was a problem then. The leaders of the village decided to take action to improve the situation. Some polluting factories were shut down. Villagers started to grow grapes and melons. They soon became a main industry(产业)in Sunshine Village.
The village started a yearly tourism festival in 2016. Many travelers come to pick grapes and melons. “The grapes and melons could be sold at a better price, once Sunshine Village becomes famous through this festival. We can then live even better lives, “the villagers said with a smile.

The new coronavirus. At the end of 2019, a new type of coronavirus started spreading in China. This type of coronavirus is often called 2019-nCoV, novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. It is believed that the virus was transmitted from animals to humans. Some of the first cases were diagnosed in people who had visited a market selling live seafood and animals. Unfortunately, when viruses are transmitted from animals to people it can take scientists a lot of time before they can develop a vaccine or medicines to cure it.
How does the virus spread? The virus appears to spread mainly from person to person. The transmission occurs when someone comes into contact with an infected person. For example, a cough, a sneeze or a handshake could cause transmission. The spread may also be caused by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes.

Researchers from the Islamic University of Technology in Bangladesh asked a group of people to type two paragraphs from Lewis Carroll’s novel Alice in Wonderland. The participants (参与者) then chose an emotional state they felt while typing. Emotions tested were joy, fear, sadness and shame.
Then the researchers put the text into the computer to study. Surprisingly, the computer was right 70 percent of the time in telling the participants’ emotional states. The most correct emotions it guessed correctly were joy (87 percent) and anger (81 percent). The least correct emotion the computer guessed was sadness (60 percent).
However, the computer program is limited (局限) in what it can do. But scientists believe that it will help humans in the future.
“If we could build any program that is smart enough to communicate with humans that involved (含有) emotion, then using machines could be more effective (有效的) and friendly,” the researchers wrote in the study. For example, when looking for a movie online, perhaps a computer program could make suggestions for films that would match your mood.
And as the researchers said, this type of computer program could also help humans in a number of ways. First, with online teaching, emotionally intelligent computers could change its teaching style or content (内容) to help students learn better. Second, with online conversation, doctors could be able to tell the emotion of a patient.

“When we were creating new tours, I saw a post(帖子)from my friend saying that he was stressed out(压力过大)by his work and that he couldn’t sleep at night,” said Kenneth Kong, the development manager of the travel. “But when he was traveling on the bus, he was able to sleep well. His post inspired me to create this tour.” Tickets for the first “Sleeping Bus Tour” sold out right away. “I have trouble sleeping well, so I’m here to try and get some sleep.” said 25-year-old Anson Kong, one of the passengers on the first bus tour. He said that the tour was a good idea and that it was more interesting than he had expected.
Many people find it easy to fall asleep during a long bus trip. Why? According to smart sleeping tips.com, there are three possible reasons.
▲White noise
Cars, buses and trains have a perfect environment that produces white noise. The noise blocks out(阻挡)other sounds, making it easier for passengers to feel sleepy.
▲Rocking(摇晃的)movement
Babies are often rocked to sleep. Sitting on a bus gives people similar experiences.
▲An increase(增加)in CO2
Buses and trains get crowded with people going to and from work, and CO2 increases when there are lots of people. As less oxygen gets into the brain, people will feel sleepy quickly.
