【推荐2】I’m in London with my friend Karen. We are staying here for four days. Yesterday was sunny and warm,     1     today it’s windy and a little cold. I’m drinking tea in our hotel room and Karen is out shopping. We’re having a great time in London. There are many interesting places of       2     here. My favorite places are the British Museum and Hyde Park. There are many beautiful old buildings here. We really enjoy     3    .

I’m looking out of my window at the street. It’s raining     4     outside. There are a lot of cars and buses going slowly. The people are walking fast or running. Everyone is holding     5     umbrella. I hope the rain will stop soon. I can’t wait to visit many places in London.

I live in Denver, a city in the state of Colorado (美国科罗拉多州). I love living in Colorado. It is famous for the Rocky Mountains. There are many fun o    1     activities to do here. People often go hiking, camping, skiing and snowboarding.

To get from Denver to the mountains in a car, it takes about thirty minutes. Many people come to attend college in Colorado, so they can go skiing and camping in the mountains on the weekends. On Friday evening, after class, they l    2     college together in one or two cars. It is a great time.

When I don’t work or have fun in the mountains, I often walk my dogs around town. Denver is a great place to walk dogs. The sidewalks (人行道) are very clean. There are many parks and people are quite f    3    . I usually take my dogs to Cheesman Park, which is a ten-minute walk from my house. There are always lots of people walking their dogs, and the dogs can sometimes p    4     together.

Colorado is a safe place to ride a bike, and there are many famous races here. There are also a lot of biking paths. Although there are many cars or buses in the street, the d    5     are very respectful (对……尊敬) of the bikers and the pedestrians (步行者). Personally, I enjoy running with my brother. We run a few miles every day, and we o    6     took part in a marathon (马拉松) last year. Colorado is great for enjoying life.

A few years ago, I took my family to Disney World in the summer holidays. During the trip, my 6-year-old daughter was     1     a lot of special attention in all the parks, while her 3-year-old brother was overlooked（忽略）. He was a shy kid and seemed fine with it for the most part.

Since     2     of my kids loved the movie Finding Nemo, we decided that we wouldn’t miss the show Turtle Talk with Crush.     3     this show, the green sea turtle called Crush from Finding Nemo would have a talk with visitors. My son really wanted to be chosen to talk with Crush, but he was too afraid to     4     his hand. My daughter was not afraid and put up her hand, so the cast（全体演员）members     5     my daughter. As the show came to an     6    , we found my son on the floor softly crying. Someone asked me if he was OK, and I explained that he was disappointed（失望的）    7     his sister had been getting so much attention and this was the one thing he had really hoped to be chosen for. A cast member told us to wait.

Once the room was empty, Crush came back onto the screen and     8     a few minutes talking one-to-one with my son about what it was like to live in the sea, even giving     9     a little swimming lesson. I can’t tell you how     10     we were that the cast at the show had gone out of their way to help a sad kid. I think it made a big difference to my son.
