AI is getting close to the human ability to read faces. As a result, facial recognition (面部识别) is used a lot in the world. Chinese police use this technology to find criminals. They even caught six criminals on a famous singer’s concerts in six different cities.     2

It seemed that it can soon take the place of a real person.     3     Service Robots can show you how powerful AI is. Imagine this—you come back from school and your robot house keeper is waiting for you at the door. After dinner, he teaches you to play the piano just like a real music teacher. 【推荐2】The invention of the camera goes far into the past. In the 1500s, men were experimenting with cameras that made images. But it was not until the early 1800s that man found a way to make the pictures permanent. Even then, photography was a new field. Most families had their pictures taken by a photographer. People did not own cameras because taking pictures and developing the film were too difficult.

In 1884, George Eastman changed photography by inventing a kind of film that fit into a small camera. Because the new film was easy to use, many people began to buy cameras. When they had used up their film, people returned their cameras to the factory. There, the film was developed, and pictures were printed. Then more film was put into the cameras, which was sent back to the owners, along with their pictures.

Eastman’s camera made it easy to take pictures. Today’s cameras are even easier to use, and people can put in their own film. Photography has become a growing hobby.

There are also many new jobs in the field of photography. One of the most important kinds of work is in news reporting. Newspapers, magazines, and television all need pictures to tell their stories. Do you know what a MOOC is? MOOC is short for Massive Open Online Course. Thousands of people can take a MOOC at the same time. You can be anywhere in the world to take it. All you need is a computer and the Internet. MOOCs became very popular in the autumn of 2011, when professor Sebastian Thrun from Stanford University opened his course up to any student anywhere and 160,000 students in more than 190 countries signed up. This new kind of online classes is shaking up the higher education world.

For years, many colleges have offered classes online. MOOCs are always used in subjects like computer science or engineering. However, can MOOCs be used in other subjects like arts or philosophy(哲学)?

Scott Anderson teaches philosophy at the University of British Columbia in Canada. He sees both good and bad sides of MOOCs. Scott says, " When students take some lessons, they needn't bepresentto hear and get them. "He says more and more students in MOOCs can mean less communication between them and teachers. He also gives two ways to solve this problem—more teachers and more online discussion groups.

Lisa Jadwin teaches English and American literature and writing at St John Fisher College in New York. She says online education has some weakness for her subjects. Lisa says, “What's lost in online education is face-to-face communication. But the teaching of literature needs that.” She says some students can learn very well from talks, blogs, and discussion groups. But she believes that mixed courses work best.

Although MOOCs are becoming more and more popular in the world, the traditional teaching ways are not going to be removed very quickly by the Internet instruction.
