Last weekend I went to the Children’s Home with my classmates. It was in     1     countryside. After warm conversations, we gave them a singing lesson. Beautiful voice was flying over the Children’s Home until the lunchtime. I found I was very interested     2     playing with these children.

After lunch, some of us helped to wash the dishes and others helped to clean the houses. Then it was afternoon, which was a good time     3     do some sports. So all the children took an active part in sports and played happily.     4     an unforgettable (难忘的) experience it was!

When we had to leave, the children showed their thanks     5     love. I have realized that helping others is the most meaningful thing in the world. And I will come there again.

Ten years ago, I lost my job in Hangzhou. I had to move to Shanghai to find another job. I left my wife and children behind. I missed them very much, so I went home on weekends to see them.

A few days after New Year’s Day, I drove my old car back to Hangzhou. On the way, my car broke down. It was so cold and I didn’t know what to do. Suddenly, a young man drove up.

He tried his best to help me repair the car. He soon got it started.

I was so thankful that I gave him all the money in my purse, but he refused. Then I got to know that he helped the drivers in trouble on the road every Saturday. What a kind man! How lucky I was to meet him in my life!

Many years later, I still often remember that great man.

Last month, I joined a club “Passing Help”. This club was to help somebody in trouble out and pass help along. Now let me ______ you why I joined it. One afternoon in winter, my old car broke down on ______ way home. I wanted to find a taxi but there wasn’t one. So I decided ______ a bus home. After a while, a bus came, but it didn’t go to my town. The bus driver was a young woman. She ______ kind and she told me which bus I should take. I waited ______ the bus about thirty minutes but it didn’t come. At this time, the bus driver ______ her car back, “When I reached the bus station, I knew that the bus to your town couldn’t come, so I come back here. I just can’t leave you here. ” She decided to send me home. On the way she told me that ______ days ago, there wasn’t gas (汽油) in her car. ______ old man helped drive her to a gas station. ______ when we arrived home, I wanted to give her some money to thank her, but she didn’t take it. “I only want to do something to help. Please pass help along ______ you want to thank me. ” she said.

During the party, the manager of our club will give a talk to share his own experiences about volunteer jobs. After that, you can enjoy good music and delicious food. You can also enjoy a dance party. Hope you have a great time.

9 . Qin Tian, 26, returned from Britain to her hometown of Xiangyang, Hubei Province, for the Spring Festival. And she stayed to help in the fight against COVID-19.

Since January 24, she has collected and given out aid with many volunteers. Between January and March, the most difficult time for medical workers, Qin wore plastic bags so that she could work 10 hours. Every morning, Qin helped distribute aid to hospitals, communities and the people in need. In the afternoon she communicated with people to get the latest information about the need. Sometimes, Qin and her father took turns driving the family car to bring aid from another city. They needed to drive for about eight hours for a round trip. It was often 11 p.m. or 4 a.m. when the aid arrived. After arriving, Qin would then help unload (卸) the aid. She took a rest in the office for four or five hours a day, with scabs (痂) on her shoulders. The scabs were from unloading the aid. Nowadays, everything returns to normal. She hands out daily necessary things to poor people. Those people thank her a lot.

Qin’s idea for volunteer work came from her mother. When she was in junior high school, her mother took her to many places to offer some help. “The experience touched me a lot. I used to complain about life, such as the strict rules from my parents, but after learning many people were still living in difficulty, I realized that what I should do is to help those in need. Doing meaningful things makes me feel valued and I would like to give lots of my time to that,” she said.

10 . This weekend we’ll have a charity sale (义卖) for the poor African children. We will give away the money we raise in the charity sale. Now we have collected some really good things. Let’s have a look.

Some soft toys from Nancy. The teddy bear is her thirteen-year-old birthday present. Her aunt gave it to her. She has had it for one year. It still looks very new. Its original price is $50. You only need to pay $15 for it now. Other toys are very new but cheap, too.

An MP3 player from David. He bought it on the Internet. He has had it for three months. It works very well now. It stays with David whenever he feels upset. And he has downloaded some pop songs in it. I hope it can be with you when you are not happy. It cost $220. Now you can take it with $100.

Some books from Henry. He began to buy fiction when he was thirteen years old. His favorite kind of books is science fiction. He said he believed anyone would learn a lot from his books. Each book only costs $10. You can get the second one at half price.
