2 . Hi! I am Tim. What do you usually do in your free time? I usually go to see my grandfather in a small town (城镇).

5 . One day we went to pick up our grandson Mark at his school. It was a beautiful spring day, so we went to the garden.

8 . Friendship comes before competition (比赛). It’s easy to say but hard to do. However, 11-year-old Jerome, a boy from Australia, did it and set us a good example.

Every morning during SEAL training (美国海豹突击队训练), our instructors (指导员) show up in our rooms. The first thing they do is checking our beds. To see if our quilts (被子) are square and the beds are clean and tidy.
It is easy to do. But every morning the instructors ask us to make our beds to perfection (完美). It may be a little boring over time, but the wisdom (智慧) behind this is great.
If you make your bed every morning, it means you have finished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride (自豪感) and it will encourage (鼓励) you to do another task and another and another. Making your bed also reminds you that little things in life matter. If you can’t do the little things right, you will never do the big things right.
