文章大意:本文主要介绍了查干湖周围的人们一直保持着的冰上捕鱼的传统。

1 . The temperature has dropped to 30 degrees below zero. But that doesn’t stop the fishermen of Songyuan City in Jilin Province. Each morning, they get up early and rush to Chagan Lake with a group of horses. The fishermen use the horses to help pull fishing nets out of the frozen(结冰的)lake.

For centuries, those living around Chagan Lake have kept alive the tradition of ice fishing. They dig holes through the thick ice and use a huge net to catch winter fish in the freezing waters. This special method has been listed as an intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产).

Every year in December, there is a winter fishing festival, which marks the beginning of the winter fishing season. Over 20 activities are held during the festival, such as winter sports competitions, nature watching, and the selling of the first-caught fish.

None of the tourists at this year’s festival would ever imagine that Chagan Lake used to be only tens of square kilometers in size. In the past, there was little rainfall and the lake grew smaller over time. Also, overfishing is one of the main reasons.

To bring Chagan Lake’s beauty back, the government used a lot of different methods. They brought in water from the Songhua River, grew more plants, and kept the water clean. The lake now covers about 500 square kilometers, and fish numbers have returned to a normal level. Now, an increasing number of tourists flock to the lake each year to experience the ancient ice-fishing tradition.

2 .

Most of us spend all day at school or work. After a long and busy day, we want to return to a comfortable home. Smart technology(科技)can turn any home into a nicer place to live.

Smart homes have been around for some time. The Scottish company Pico Electronics invented a type of technology called X10. With X10,   household devices(设备), such as lights and alarms, can communicate with each other by using radio waves.

Of course, 5G networks have made smart homes much more wonderful than X10. Perhaps the most widely used smart home technology is the voice-activated assistant(语音激活助手). Google Home and Amazon Alexa allow users to interact(互动)with nearly any device in their home simply by saying a few words. This is good for children and disabled people, as they can do things that would normally be too difficult, according to How-To Geek.

Common household devices can become “smart” as well. For example, according to HowStuffWorks, a smart trash bin can keep track of the things you’ve thrown away and place an online order for new items. Smart fridges can make dinner recipes(食谱)based on the food inside.

But it’s not just about convenience. Smart homes are also good for the environment. By turning off devices that you’re not using, smart homes can lower electricity(电)you use. Using less energy means that we use fewer natural resources(资源), which is good for the environment.

1. X10 technology allows household devices to use _______ to communicate .
A.voicesB.radio wavesC.passagesD.a 5G network
2. The writer shows that common household devices are smart by _______.
A.listing numbersB.telling storiesC.giving examplesD.answering question

B.smart fridges can cook meals by itself
C.children can interact with household devices at a smart home

4. Smart homes are better for the environment because _______.
A.they use solar energyB.they have smart trash bins
C.they can help us save energyD.they are built with special materials
5. The passage is about the topic of “_______”.

Why should you work hard and feel sore (酸痛的) the next day? Wouldn’t it be better to forget sports and only pay attention to your lessons? In fact, there are a lot of reasons to play sports.

First of all, sports are a great way to exercise. Exercising keeps you healthy and strong. It also helps you stay in a good condition. When you exercise, your body makes endorphins (安多芬) which give you more energy and make you feel happier.

Also, sports teach young people how to communicate and work as a team. They teach young people to respect (尊重) their coaches, teammates and players from the other team. Many reports say that sports help young people stay out of trouble. If a young person plays sports, he or she may have fewer problems. This is because sports teach people about rules.
7 .

In today’s world, people are spending less and less time on things. A study shows that most visitors spend just 15 seconds on a website before moving on to other things. It’s easy to understand because there are millions of websites on the Internet. What will people do when they’re in museums full of great works of art? Will they slow down a little more? The answer is no.

Studies show that it takes most people ten seconds to look at a piece of art. At Tate Modern in London, it’s even worse. People there spend an average of just eight seconds on each artwork. And in that short time, the visitors also do another important thing—taking photos!

These years, museums are working to change this. Today, over 170 museums around the world are having “Slow Art Day”. Most of the museums taking part in “Slow Art Day” are choosing just a few works for their visitors to enjoy. They are asking their visitors to spend at least 5—10 minutes looking at just one work of art.

Slow Art backers think that when visitors spend more time looking at and studying the work of art, they will enjoy it more. By spending time, they can see more details about the work. Studying a work of art for more time can also help people get a better understanding of the artist’s ideas. Phil Terry, who started “Slow Art Day”, said, “By slowing down, it helps us to see art in a new way.”

1. Why do most visitors spend just 15 seconds on a website?
A.They don’t like it.B.They are so busy that they don't spend more time on it.
C.There are too many websites on the Internet.D.They don’t need to visit these websites.

A.there are great works of artB.people love to take photos there

3. What does the underlined word “backers” most probably mean?
A.fansB.playersC.visitorsD.writers
4. What do we know from the passage?
A.The writer wants people to go to museums more often.B.Studies show that most visitors spend five seconds on one work of art.
C.Slow Art helps visitors learn more about the artist’s ideas.D.The museums joining in “Slow Art Day” usually have a lot of artworks.

文章大意:本文主要介绍了一种新型环保跑车——ZEM。
8 .

On September 16th, 2022, some students are showing their car on a US tour to universities and companies from the East Coast to Silicon Valley.

It is a kind of sporty car but it is the special one. It is called ZEM, short for zero emission mobility, as the beginning letter of the name shows it gives out zero carbon. It has two-seater houses with battery box, and most of its parts are 3D-printed from second hand things.

“We are just to make a better and clearer future,” said Jens Lahaije, a manager of the Eindhoven University of Technology student team that made the car.

Compared with common cars, such battery electric cars give out no CO2, but battery can also make our air around us dirty and dangerous. So, the cost of doing with it isn’t low.

Cleaning the air by getting CO2 in is a pretty new way for a car. The students made it come true in this kind of car, ZEM. The idea is quite useful: while driving, the air will move through cars and the CO2 will be got in.

The Eindhoven team thought ZEM uses two machines that get 2 kgs of CO2 over 32,186 kms of driving, later these machines can be emptied at stations when they take in more electric to let the car work.

As for carbon emissions, the European Union made strict rules years ago, and most European car companies began to move to electric cars, but they didn’t make more wonderful cars than that one, ZEM.
