Everybody can suffer from stress. No matter what your age is, you can feel stressed out by things that are happening in your life.

3 . “I sometimes get up at three or four in the morning to surf the Internet.”
“ I checked my e-mail almost forty times a day.”
“I seldom spend less than three hours each time on the net.”
“I spend more time in chat rooms than with my ‘real-life’ friends.”
Do you know any people like these? They are part of a new addiction* called Internet addiction. According to experts, Internet addicts* spend at least thirty hours online every week. They lose control of the time they spend on the Internet.
For example, one college student was missing for several days. His friends were worried and looked for him everywhere but couldn’t find him. They called the police. The police found the student in the computer lab: he was surfing the Internet---for seven days straight.
A study shows that about seven to ten percent of Internet users become addicted. The teenagers spend more time on the Internet than with friends and family. That’s why some experts worry most about young people.

Is “surfing the Internet” a hobby or an addiction for you? You may have a problem if you have one of the following symptoms*.
★ You go out with your friends less and less.
★ You’ve decided to spend a short time online, but then you spend several hours.
★ You do not go to important family events or you do not do school projects because you like to spend hours on the Internet.

Different teachers do things differently. For example, some teachers may focus* on lots of dates and facts* in class, but they only write the important ones on the blackboard. Other teachers may not write anything down, but they may say something important again and again.
★Ask. Don’t be afraid to ask your teacher to repeat what you miss. If your teacher speaks too fast and you can’t follow what he is saying, you can ask him after class.
★Compare. Comparing your notes with your classmates’ can be good for your learning. It can also help you and your classmates correct some mistakes.
★Organize. Note-taking also needs organization. Keep notes for each subject in one notebook, so that you can find everything easily when a test comes.

5 . Cycling isn’t always easy. Busy streets and few bike lanes and parking areas can make it a battle. But not even these difficulties can stop Europeans’ love for cycling. According to Reuters, more bicycles have been sold than cars in 26 of the European Union’s 28 states this year.
In some European countries, people really love bicycles. “People ride to work and take their bikes to the grocery store”, Bill Strickland, editor of Bicycling magazine, told the reporter from Reuters.
So what has led to cycling’s growing popularity in Europe? Cycling is “a safe, clean, healthy, inexpensive way to get around town,” the Daily Star concluded. “It not only reduces traffic problems and pollution, but also contributes to public health.”
Bike-friendly rules have also been made. Dozens of cities have joined a European Union initiative(倡议)to make bicycles a form of city transport, like cars. Quite a few cities such as Stockholm, London, Florence and Munich now offer special bike lanes. Copenhagen takes it a step further by keeping bicycles and cars separated as much as possible. On these routes, traffic lights are designed to the rhythms of bicycles, not cars. For people living far from city centers, getting to work by bicycle alone may take too much time. That’s why many European countries now allow cyclists to bring their bicycles onto subway trains. Europeans are also creative in solving parking problems. Amsterdam has come up with a high-tech solution: you lock your bike to a rack(机架), which then goes underground. When you want your bike back, it is brought back to the surface.
