1 . The food in Canada is different from our Chinese food. For example, they eat a lot of potatoes. They like to eat them every day. They eat bread for breakfast. They eat their bread with butter (黄油), cheese or jam (果酱). Cheese and butter are made from (用……做) milk. They drink a lot of milk, too. They drink hot or cold milk, and they put it in their tea. And they like meat or fish with potatoes and other vegetables. After the meal they always eat something sweet. They call that dessert.

2 . Color is everywhere in our life. People usually talk about two groups of colors: warm colors and cool colors. The warm colors are red, orange and yellow. The cool colors are green, blue and purple. People have different feelings about colors. Some people like warm colors while other people like cool colors.

Warm colors make people happy and hungry. A warm color, such as red or orange, is a good color for a living room or a restaurant.

Cool colors make people calm. School walls are always green because it makes students feel calm. It is also good for students’ eyes.

Warm colors let people think of warm days and cool colors remind them of cool days.

3 . A large number of people in the world eat fast food. When you go into a fast food restaurant, you can see lots of people enjoying their meals there. In which country do people like fast food best?

The English people are the world’s biggest fans of fast food while the French are the least（最不）interested in quick meals, according to a survey（调查）done last year.

The survey of thirteen countries shows 45% of the English people say they can’t give up（放弃）fast food because it’s delicious. And 44% of Americans and 37% of Canadians say the same.

How about the Chinese? How often do you have hamburgers or fried chicken? It doesn’t matter whether you like Western fast food or Chinese food. The most important thing is to keep healthy.

4 . Most (大多数) English people have three names: a first name, a middle name and a last name. If (如果) my name is Anna Henry Green. Anna is the first name, Henry is the middle name and Green is the last name. People don’t use (不使用) their middle names very much. You can call me Anna Green but you can’t call me Henry Green. The first name and the middle name are the given (被赋予的) names. The last name is the family name. And we can use Miss before a girl’s family name but we can’t use it before her given name.

5 . Hello! I am Dale. This is my jacket. Its size is M. It’s blue. I like the color. I have a cup, a ruler and a pen. The cup is brown. The ruler is yellow and the pen is green. What’s that? It’s a quilt. It’s red. I like the quilt. I have a map. It is a map of the world（世界）. Can you see that orange? It’s good. It’s my orange. What’s this? It’s a key. It’s white. It’s Helen’s.

7 . When you are in the UK, you must be very careful in the street, because the traffic runs on the left. You must look at the right first and then the left, and then you can cross the street. If the traffic lights are red, the traffic must stop. Then people on foot can cross the road. If the traffic lights are green, the traffic can go. People mustn’t cross. When you go by bus in the UK, you have to be careful, too. Always remember the traffic runs on the left. Have a look first, or you will go the wrong way. In many English cities, there are double-deckers(双层公共汽车).

You can sit on the second deck. It’s a good way to see the city. It’s very interesting.

8 . Tom, Bill and Dave lost their backpacks. They are at the lost and found case. The backpacks are the same (一样的) , but the things in them are different. Can you help them find the right (正确的) backpack?
