2 . People all are looking for ways to save energy and natural resources(资源)to protect our environment. Here’s an example of saving water.

A doctor called Jack Todd, is very interested in cleaning water as well as saving money, so he has tried many ways, and in the end he developed a small and affordable system to clean waste water—the Living Machine. The machine can clean waste water in our home and in our business.

Second, a few days later, the water is brought into a greenhouse full of plants and fish. With the help of sunlight, plants and animals, many chemicals can be removed from the water. That makes the water cleaner. Then the water can be used for washing or bathing. Though it cant be used for drinking or cooking, the water is clean enough to water the flowers, wash the dog and bathe.

5 . “For as long as I can remember, mom has been a middle-aged woman, but no one told me she used to be a young girl…This is a line from the film Hi, Mom, as well as the way director and star Jia Ling once felt about her own mother. Released on Feb 12, the film is the directorial debut (导演首秀) of 39-year-old comedian-turned-filmmaker Jia. It has gotten a high score of 8.1 on the movie rating website Douban. Many people said they were touched by its raw (质朴的) emotion.

The film is based on the real-life story of Jia and her mother, showing her missing and regret at failing to see her mother before she died. It reflects on how she misses her late mother Li Huanying, who encouraged Jia to pursue (追求) her artistic dreams. To make the film more appealing, Jia made it a time-travel story. She goes back to 1981 and becomes friends with her own mom, Li Huanying. She risks giving up her own life and disappearing to make sure that her mother has a better future.

The Spring Festival holiday box office (票房) seems to prefer the films “with great family love and a little hurt”, and Hi, Mom has “hit all the right notes”. The film has also been praised for its, sincere description of female (女性的) roles. In the movie, Li is more of a young girl rather than a mother. As Jia says in the movie, “She is not only my mom, but also herself…” The many women who helped make the film, including Jia herself, helped the movie’s female roles shine in ways that had nothing to do with their looks, according to Jiemian News.

文章大意:本文介绍了深圳市政协委员陈志洪建议将蛇口渔人码头建成观光胜地,并介绍了进行这一举措所面临的问题以及会从哪些方面进行整改。

10 . SHENZHEN political adviser Chen Zhihong has proposed (提议) building Shekou Fisherman’s Wharf (码头) in Shekou, Nanshan District into a tourist site at the Second Session of the Seventh Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC (深圳市政协第七届二次会议), Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

The renovation (翻新) of the Fisherman’s Wharf started in April 2018, in order to turn the wharf into an entertainment, a cultural exchange, education, tourism and housing complex (综合体).

However, many old and damaged boats are still docked (停靠) at the wharf due to historical reasons. These don’t match the surrounding environment and might cause a fire risk or pollute the waters.

Chen thus called for applying first-class standards to build the wharf into an international coastal tourism destination. At the same time, the construction can contribute to Nanshan District’s move to build the area into an innovative (创新的) coastal city center, according to Chen.

Additionally, Chen advised tourist viewing platforms to be added at the wharf and urged related departments to learn about the number and types of boats, and reasons for currently docking at the wharf.

Chen also proposed no longer allowing commercial ships to dock at the wharf unless they are sheltering from a typhoon. He suggested the berthing sites (靠泊点) be moved to Humen in Dongguan City, Aotou in Huizhou City and Fuyong in Bao’an District because the wharf’s water has poor self-purification capabilities.

1. When did the renovation of the wharf begin?

2. What problems are caused by the boats docking at the wharf?

3. Which is NOT the proposal from Chen Zhihong?
A.Building the wharf into a tourist site.
B.Allowing commercial ships to dock at the wharf.
C.Adding tourist viewing platforms at the wharf.
D.Urging related departments to know more about the docking boats.
4. Why did Chen Zhihong suggest moving the berthing sites?
A.Because there are typhoons at the wharf every year.
B.Because Humen, Aotou and Fuyong are close to the wharf.
C.Because the wharf is poor in purifying its water.
D.Because there are too many ships docking at the wharf.
5. Where can you probably read the passage?
