1 . The British Museum is one of the biggest museums in the world. There are so many things in the museum to see: clocks that have been telling the time for 600 years, Roman money, some of     1    (early) books in the world and so on.

The British Museum was set up nearly 300 years ago     2     a doctor, Sir Hans Sloane. The man liked to collect things such as books, drawings, clothes, money     3     flowers. He hoped that his things would be kept well. And he also wanted people to visit the place after his     4    (dead).

    5     (he) wish came true, and     6     museum opened in 1759, six years after Sir Hans Sloane died. Later, more antiques (古董) arrived at the museum, and more people wanted     7    (visit) it. The weather was pleasant     2     the air was fresh. The flowers there not only looked beautiful, but also smelt nice. While I     3    walking along the bank, I saw many birds flying over the lake. Then     4    took a boat to travel around the lake. After that, I ate a lot     5    delicious local food in a restaurant. Finally, I joined in a cycling race. It was an exciting trip. 7 . Do you want to go     1     (在国外) for a vacation? It’s best to visit Singapore. This small     2     (岛) in the     3    （东南部）    4     (亚洲) is a wonderful and     5    （安全的） place to take a holiday. You shouldn’t worry about the    6    （语言）. You can     7     (只；不过) speak Putonghua a lot of the time. It’s also a good place to     8     (练习) your English.

Last winter holiday, I visited a village with only 11 houses. T    1     the village was very small, I s    2    a whole day in it.

The village became well-known because o    3    Grandpa Huang's hard work. He bought a house there over 30 years a    4    , but in 2010 the village was to be pulled down. In o    5    to save the old village, Grandpa Huang painted on the walls of his own house and other houses. He painted things that he liked.
