Wenzhou is my     1     (家乡). It is in the     2     (南部) of Zhejiang. The     3     (人口) of Wenzhou is about 9     4     (百万). The weather is good, it’s     5     (温暖的) in spring. Wenzhou has a long history of more than 2,000 years. It is a good place to spend your free time. You can enjoy its natural scenery. There are many     6     (主要的，最大的) interesting places to visit, such as Yandang     7     (山，山岳) and Jiangxin Island. Nothing is     8     (令人愉快的，有乐趣的) than taking a holiday here. Every year visitors from all over the world come here to spend their holidays. You can come and see Wenzhou any time of the year. I     9     (相信) it is a good     10     (选择) to have your trip here.

We all want to have a good relax over the weekend. What will it be like if it is longer?

On April 11, people in Nanjing got a piece of     1     (新闻) that they may get another half-day off every Friday afternoon so that they can spend more time     2     (购物) and traveling. Nanjing is not alone. Some cities in Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Hubei and Gansu province’s also have such a plan to offer a 2.5-day weekend.

This move may be helpful to the economy of our country. China has almost completely shut down     3     (自从) late January because of the outbreak of COVID-19. It seems really necessary to     4     (鼓励) people to travel around.

The 2.5-day weekend quickly became a hot topic. Many people said they     5     (期待) it to come true across the country. Some people are     6     (兴奋的) about it. In this way, they would have great chances to travel and get much     7     (快乐) off work. They can also get more time to learn more skills and develop their     8     (兴趣).

But others don’t feel the same way. Some said the longer weekend would perhaps bring them more pressure to their work. Another reason is that meeting     9     (陌生人) is still dangerous for them. Anyway, people would like to stay in good     10     (健康) and away from the awful virus.

Chicago is a great place to visit. It is the     1    （第三）largest city in the USA. Every year lots of     2    （游客）come to Chicago from different places around the world. They take trains, planes or     3    （船）to visit this great city. The centre of Chicago is called the Loop. The     4    （交通）there is really busy. When you go to the south of the Loop, you will find areas like Chinatown. People from China have many of the same holidays as their hometown, such as Chinese New Year. If you are a basketball     9    （迷；支持者）, the United Center is a good place for you to enjoy the NBA games. It will be wonderful     10    （为……喝彩）the players in the match with other people and you can make some good friends there.

Chicago is also called the Windy City, so don’t forget to take some warm clothes with you.

7 . Do you know an old city     1     (call) “Pingyao” in Shanxi? It’s a town with a long history of more than two thousand years.     2     (thousand) of people come     3     (visit) the old town every year. They want to have a look at the Chinese traditional     4     (build) there.

The old city is not very large. And there are no tall buildings here. Most of the buildings have only two floors. And most of them     5     (make) of stones (石头). People all like to go     6     (walk) on the stone streets. There are many Chinese­style shops on either side (边) of the street.

Pingyao is a square (方的) city. The city has a wall around it. It’s about 6 kilometres long and 12 metres high.

Pingyao is not far from Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province (省). You can take buses or trains here. It’s less than two     7     (hour) bus ride from Taiyuan. It costs you only 20 yuan. If you take a train, it     8     (take) you only one and a half hours     9     (get) here. And it     10     (not cost) you too much.

As we all know, London is a city with a long history. That’s why     2     (千) of people come here every day. Now we are standing at the Trafalgar Square, and it’s the     3     (中间) of London. From this square, you can begin your short tour of London.     4     (穿过) the square, you will get to the National Gallery, a     5     (著名的) museum with lots of amazing paintings. From here, we will walk     6     (沿着) the red street to Buckingham Palace. The queen lives there. Turn left and reach the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.     7     (在……的对面) them you can see the London Eye. It can take you 135     8     (米) above the River Thames. You can see most of London on a     9     (晴朗的) day.
