文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章主要讲述人工智能制作的照片以及如何辨别照片是否为人工智能制作的方法。

1 . Mark Zuckerberg wears a pink coat and walks the runway (时装秀伸展台). Former US president Donald Trump falls over while getting arrested (逮捕). These pictures have recently gone viral (疯传的) online. They have one thing in common—they are fake, but look like they are real.

AI tools like Midjourney and DALL-E can create such pictures. However, AI tools are not perfect. News outlets (媒体) gave some ways on telling fake pictures.

One way is to look at hands. AI often draws human hands wrongly. Sometimes the number of fingers is wrong, and sometimes the shape looks strange. The photos AI uses to learn often show hands in different gestures (姿势), so it isn’t sure what a “hand” really looks like.

We can also pay attention to the details. For example, people in an AI-made image may miss an earring or a part of their glasses. If there’s text in an image such as a poster (海报), the text is usually unreadable.

AI is also terrible at dealing with the background. If there’s a crowd in the image, people’s faces in the corner are usually blurry (模糊的) or they don’t have a face at all!

According to Boom, a website that fights against misinformation, people should slow down on clicking the reposting (转发) button: “Stop, find the source (来源), find trusted coverage (报道), rather than let our first impressions lead us.”

1. What do we know about the pictures in Paragraph 1?
A.They were taken by AI tools.B.They were created by AI tools.
C.They look like fake pictures.D.They were drawn by someone online.
2. How can we tell if a picture is created by AI?
①Look at the people’s gestures.              ②Look into details.
③Check the background.              ④Look at the main characters’ faces.
A.①②B.①③C.②③D.②④
3. According to Boom, what should people do?
A.Think twice before spreading information.B.Trust our first impressions.
C.Fight against spreading information.D.Read texts and click buttons slowly.
4. What is the passage mainly about?
A.Fighting against misinformation.B.Websites with trusted news coverage.
C.Pictures made by AI and their features.D.Fake pictures created by people.

We have a saying that “filial piety is the first of the hundred virtues (百善孝为先)”. So you know how     1     it is for the Chinese to respect (尊重) and take care of their parents.

This traditional value (价值观) has been     2     down from generation (一代人) to generation through many different stories, like the Twenty-four Filial Exemplars (《二十四孝》). My mom sets a good     3     for me, too. Every week she goes to visit     4     mom and takes care of her. Then I got the idea to care for my mom as well. When my mom     5     sick, I cook for her. I also prepare birthday gifts for her to show my love.

I think filial piety is a     6     thing. Our parents do so many things for us. They feed us, look after us and teach us. It’s natural that we feel thankful and want to pay them     7    . As teenagers, filial piety may just mean not always arguing (争论) with parents, and trying to make them happy     8     behaving (表现) well.

4 . Parents work hard to offer us a comfortable environment at home. (改为同义句)
Parents work hard to ________ us ________ a comfortable environment at home.

6 . 阅读下文并回答问题。

Imagine you are looking at Wang Ximeng’s famous painting from the Song Dynasty (960-1279), A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains (《千里江山图》). Suddenly, its blue rivers ripple (起伏), and its green mountains move. Music draws you into the painting as it comes to life and shares with you its history. This is what happens in Poetic Dance: The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting (《只此青绿》), a dance drama based on (基于) the beautiful piece of art.

The show is now showing across China. In the show, one man from the present interacts (互动) with the painter of the past, through his experiences with the painting. Actually, over in the West, dance is used in similar ways to tell cultural stories from history and reinvent (重新创造) them in the modern world.

China’s dance drama tells its story through the power of movement and often stillness (静止). In the show, the dancers arch (拱起) their backs and wave (挥舞) their flowing clothes to move like rivers. In one scene the dancers become huge still rocks. The creativity behind the moves speaks to us in a poetic (诗意的) way. There is a closeness too with a live performance, a shared link between the dancers and the audience (观众).

1. What is the key word of Paragraph 1, painting, music or dance?
_____________________________________________________________
2. In the dance show, who does the man from the present interact with?
_____________________________________________________________
3. In the Chinese dance drama, how do the dancers act like a moving river?

4. What do you think of the show?

文章大意:本文介绍了一些可以帮助你管理情绪的方法。

7 . How to control your own emotion (情绪)? Maybe you can take following steps.

Remind yourselves that it is never okay to hurt others.

It is important to know what is acceptable (可被接受的) and what is not for others. You should not hurt others, including hurting them with words.

Take three deep breaths or count slowly to 10.

You need to understand big feelings are very normal but your actions caused by these feelings will bring results. Taking a few deep breaths or slowly counting to 10 can give you time to realize your body’s warning signs—whether you have a tense (紧绷的) body or clenched (咬紧的) teeth.

Use your words to say how you feel and what you wish would happen.

Saying what you wish for helps you open a problem-solving conversation. Of course, your wish won’t always be an acceptable solution for all parties, but you can work out a more peaceful solution together with whom you are angry.

Ask for help to solve the problem.

It is okay to ask for help when you don’t feel that you can solve the problem alone. Asking your parents or teachers for advice may help you find better ways.

Take the time you need to calm down.

Sometimes you may still feel angry or upset even having worked through each of the above steps. In these situations it is often better to walk away or to find another safe way to deal with those feelings. Several days later, you may not feel as strongly about what happened.

1. What does Step 2 tell us?
A.Only angry people have big feelings.
B.It is normal to feel angry.
C.Unhealthy people easily become angry.
D.Numbers can make people feel comfortable.
2. What should you do if others don’t do as you wish?
A.Forget what you need and follow their ideas.
B.Force them to accept your idea
C.Stop talking to them.
D.Find a new solution together.
3. What if your emotions are still there after you have tried steps 1-4?
A.There is no safe way left to solve the problem.
B.The problem is too serious for you to solve.
C.You have to find the warning signs in your body.
D.Time may help you calm down and be peaceful again.
4. We shouldn’t ________ when we are dealing with our emotions.
A.tell others about the problemB.express our feelings
C.hurt other peopleD.stay away from others

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文,讲述了名称与人名之间的联系,解释了菠萝蜜、三明治等名字背后的历史故事,鼓励读者探索名称背后的有趣故事。

9 . The jackfruit (菠萝蜜) is a delicious fruit found in certain parts of Asia. But there is more to the fruit than just its taste. When thinking about the fruit’s English name, it is easy to come up with questions like: Who is Jack? And why does he have his own fruit?”

Surprisingly, “jackfruit” isn’t a person’s name at all. The fruit’s name first comes from the southern Indian word chakka pazham, with India thought to be the fruit’s place of origin (起源). Portuguese explorers (葡萄牙探险家) who came to this area went on to call it jaca. It leads us to the now English name of jackfruit according to NPR. Unluckily, no one called Jack has been proven (证明) to have anything to do with it.

There is another food, however, that was directly (直接地) named after a person—the sandwich. In the 18th century, playing card games late into the night became popular in British high society. John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, started the habit of ordering pieces of cold beef between two pieces of bread. This was meant to be a late-night snack without having to leave the gaming table or use a knife and fork.

Away from the world of food, there are more examples of names inspired by people. So, the next time you find an interesting name in the English language, why not explore its history?

1. What was the Portuguese name of jackfruit based on?
A.Its Indian name.B.His own name.C.India.D.Portugal.
2. What were sandwiches originally made of?
A.Two pieces of bread and pieces of hot beef.
B.Two pieces of bread and pieces of cold beef.
C.Two pieces of bread and pieces of cold pock.
D.Two pieces of bread and pieces of cold chicken.
3. Why did John Montagu invent the sandwich?
A.To eat while playing card games.B.To sell it to others.
C.To make it for his family.D.To make it for his friends.
4. What the title of the passage?
A.The name of fruitB.The name of food
C.Looking deeper at fun namesD.Funny names
