Goldilocks was lost in the forest soon. She noticed a little house and the door was     1    . There was nobody there. She entered the house. Goldilocks wanted to sit down because she was tired. She liked the small chair, but she was very heavy and soon the small chair was in     5    . She felt sleepy so she walked into the bedroom. Then the Three Bears returned to     7     house. Baby Bear pointed at Goldilocks and     8    , “That’s her! She finished my food and...look at my chair!” Goldilocks     9     out of the bed and hurried out of the house without her basket. She     10     go for a walk in the forest again.

3 . Franz Schubert was a music giant (巨匠). He wrote several symphonies (交响乐) and operas, over 600 songs, and had many other musical works.

Schubert was born in a musical family in Vienna on January 31, 1797. His father was a teacher, and he taught young Schubert to play the violin. One of Schubert’s brothers also gave him piano lessons.

Schubert was really good at writing all kinds of music. Schubert started working at his father’s school in 1814, but he didn’t like teaching. So he spent most of his free time writing music. During that time, he wrote his first full symphony and opera. He also wrote many famous songs.

In 1818, Schubert gave up teaching to make music full time. It was a good change. People liked his music, and they even paid him to write music for them. Schubert finally made money from his musical works, but they didn’t make him rich.

Schubert died at the age of 31 on November 19, 1828. Schubert and his music touched many people during his time. His works still touch people today.

4 . When you were young, was it difficult for you to get up in the morning? But now, Hiroyuki’s bed will solve your problem! Here is how it works.

The bed is connected to an alarm clock. First, the alarm clock rings. You have a few minutes to wake up. Next, a tape recorder in the bed plays soft music. The tape recorder in Hiroyuki’s bed plays a recording of his girlfriend. She says in a soft voice, “Wake up, darling, please.” After minutes later, Hiroyuki hears a recording of his boss. His boss shouts, “Wake up at once, or you’ll be late!” If you don’t get up after the second recording, a mechanical “foot” in the bed will kick you in the head.

The bed waits a few more minutes. What! You’re still in bed! Slowly the top of the bed rises higher and higher. The foot of the bed goes lower and lower. Finally you slide off the bed and onto the floor. You are out of bed awake!

Hiroyuki’s bed is not in stores. There is only one bed—the bed Hiroyuki made for a contest. Maybe some day a company will make Hiroyuki’s bed and sell it in stores. Maybe people will buy millions of beds. Then Hiroyuki will be rich. If the bed makes Hiroyuki rich, he won’t need to work, and he won’t need to get up early!

6 . Once upon a time, there was a man in the forest. He was a hunter (猎人). He was not afraid of any animals, even the tiger. One day a man from a village came to ask him to catch a tiger in the village, because the tiger came to the village twice and ate two sheep. The hunter went to the village the next night. He walked around the village. Suddenly, he saw the tiger coming, when the tiger saw him, it ran away. It was running on two of its feet. The hunter caught the “tiger” and found it was a poor man. The man had no food to eat. The hunter gave the poor man some money. The poor man thanked the hunter with tears (眼泪) in his eyes. After there was not “tiger” any longer.
