Do you know why people wear “smart clothes” in the new century? We not only use “smart clothes” to cover our bodies, but     1     use them to do many other things.

Eight-year-old Danyal is a Syrian (叙利亚的) boy. But he     1     and growing up in Ningbo, China. Now he is studying in Daqi Boping Primary School. He goes to school with other Chinese students. He speaks Chinese well. His parents teach     2     Arabic (阿拉伯语) and English at home. So he can speak three languages. In 2012, Hasan Nael, Danyal’s father came to China for the       3     time by himself. Danyal’s mother Alshaer Yara and Nae came to Ningbo to study Chinese in 2015. They loved the welcoming environment (环境)   and lovely people there. So they decided to stay in the city.

As Danyal is a kid coming from another country, his teachers care about him and give him much love. “Danyal is a lucky boy. If he were in Syria, he would be an ordinary (普通的) kid,” Nael says. “But here in China he is popular—many people like him and say he is lovely and cute. They like to take pictures of him, and it makes him very happy.”

Danyal loves Chinese food and his     4     school life. Danyal says,   “Miss Yu teaches us new words. By learning new Chinese words, I     5     a writer in the future. I also like math classes because I learn about things I’m interested in.”

Goldilocks tried the three chairs and liked the small chair, but she was very heavy and soon the small chair was in     1    . Then she walked into the bedroom. There were three beds. She tried the middle bed and the big bed, but they     2     comfortable. So she tried the small bed. It was very comfortable and she was     3     in it very soon.

Then the Three Bears returned to their house. They walked up to their bedroom. Baby Bear     4     at Goldilocks, “That’s her! She finished my food and... look at my chair!” Goldilocks opened her eyes. She     5     the Three Bears were all around her, so she jumped up and hurried out of the house without her basket.

Moving on after loss
