3 . There are many kinds of subjects in school. Do you know the labor (劳动) class? It’s different from other subjects. Now many schools open labor classes to help more students live better. I’m very happy to hear that. But do you know what we can learn from them?

For one thing, we can learn living skills from them. The teacher will teach us quite a lot of useful skills, such as keeping pets, cooking, growing flowers and so on.

For another, we can also be great helpers. As we all know, parents are very busy with their work and they are usually tired after a day’s work. If we can take care of ourselves well and help them when they need help, they will feel comfortable and we will feel happy.

4 . John and Nick are best friends and they hang out together almost every day. However, about a month ago, they got into the biggest fight.

It started on a Sunday when Nick went over to John’s house to play tennis. But John said he wanted to go to watch his elder brother’s football game instead. When Nick asked if he could go too, John said no. Nick felt hurt. He asked why he couldn’t go. John could:

Nick could:

Way to avoid (避免) the fight:

Open communication. There was a better way for John to let Nick know that he needed his own space.

5 . To celebrate World Health Day on April 7th, our school will invite some doctors to give classes online this Saturday. Students can go into the meeting rooms to listen and communicate with them.

6 . Last Saturday, I went to a coffee shop to meet a friend. I got there ten minutes earlier. So I ordered a cup of coffee and sat by the window, watching people. There were some boys playing football by the side of the street and a small boy was running after the ball.

Suddenly, there came a car. It was going very fast. When the driver saw the boy, he tried to stop the car, but he couldn’t…The small boy was lying on the street without moving. To everyone’s surprise, the car didn’t stop. It drove away quickly.

People ran to the boy. There was a big cut on the boy’s head and he lost a lot of blood. The coffee shop owner telephoned the police at once, Soon the boy was taken to the hospital. At 6:30 p.m., the police arrived and started asking people around. About half an hour later, I arrived at the police station with the police. I gave them all the information I knew. I really wanted them to catch the driver. I didn’t leave the police station until 8:00 p.m. After that I went home and I didn’t want to talk to anyone.

The next day, the boy’s parents called me to say thanks. They also told me their boy was fine and the driver was at the police station.

8 . China covers large areas and has the most people. Different living habits are always an interesting topic (话题) in the country. These days, another difference between southern Chinese and northern Chinese became a hot one: the way to shop at markets.

People from southern China say that they always buy some vegetables for just one or two meals. It is normal for them to buy one potato or a little beef at a time.

However, one may be laughed at if he does this in the north. Instead, buying vegetables and meat enough for a week is usual. Also, you can buy a small amount (数量) of fruit, such as an apple or pear each time in the south. Shop owners even help you peel and cut them. But shop owners in the north hardly offer such service. And they sell many fruits in baskets and boxes.

The difference could be due to the different weather. Food can be kept for a long time in the north as it is usually cold and dry there. Many northern Chinese have the habit of storing food, especially for the long winter. But the hot and wet weather in the south makes southern Chinese buy just enough food for one meal or one day, or the food may go bad.

10 . Today all the people need to have fun when they are free. We can’t work all the time if we are going to keep healthy.

Everyone has his own way of relaxing. For most people, the most popular way is to play sports. There are team sports, such as basketball and football. There are also individual (个人的) sports, such as swimming and running.

Not everyone who enjoys sports likes to take part in them. Many people like watching them on TV or listening to them on the radio. So many people like some indoor activities, such as watching TV, singing and dancing.

It doesn’t matter if we like indoor activities or take part in outdoor sports. It is important for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.
