2 . Does eating have anything to do with exercise in our daily life? Some experts suggested that we should wait before exercise after eating. And the food you eat will decide how long you will wait before exercise.
Though not everyone who exercises after a meal experiences problems, eating a meal too close to the time you exercise could lead to discomfort. It’s because most food s take hours to digest and some people feel uncomfortable in the process, which could get in the way of meaningful exercise. “For some, eating right before exercise could cause an upset stomach.” adds Allen, a professor at Missouri State University.
According to recent researches, waiting to exercise after eating may better the quality of your exercise. It can improve one’s physical condition and better the exercise. The question then for many people comes down to how long they should wait between eating and exercising — a question to which there is no clear answer.
A good rule is for the time to correlate with the size of the meal one eats. “If you have a big meal such as a toast and potatoes, wait three to four hours to exercise. For a smaller meal such as a sandwich or a protein bar, wait about two hours. For something light like a piece of fruit or orange juice, thirty to sixty minutes is fine.” she advises.
But there is no hard and fast rule, and the time recommended can vary. “The time you wait depends on you, so experiment and see how long works best for your body.” says Allen, “If you can stand it, feel free to eat a healthy snack before you exercise. What I strongly recommend is to pay attention to your body’s needs and do what is best for you.”

3 . The first time Mohamed went to a restaurant in his new neighborhood, he realized that he wasn’t in Tunis anymore. He was excited when he first arrived here, but now, his excitement seemed gone.
He looked at the menu, not knowing what these names meant, and ordered an ice cream in a cup. While waiting, he looked at the pizzas, breads and cookies.
The waitress came back with a cup of soda. Mohamed, though feeling mystified at first, took it and thanked her. He must have used the wrong word! Then he forced a smile and pointed at a cookie, “That one, too”, which seemed to work.
Mohamed took his food to a table. Why had English been so easy in classes, but when it came to actually speaking, he couldn’t even name what he wanted. Mohamed wondered how foreigners traveling to Tunis would feel and if they would find their academic French was not the same as French in real life. The food would make them feel out of place. He smiled to himself, thinking about how hot the peppers were in Tunisian dishes, and how his mother had to avoid using them and cook western-style food every time they had foreign visitors.
Just then, a girl came over and asked, “Are you Professor Ammar’s son? ” He nodded, excited to talk to someone but hoping she didn’t notice what had happened. “I’m Luisa.” the girl said, “Don’t feel bad about your English — you’ll get better at it. I’m from Spain. The first time I tried to order a salad here, I ended up with a plate of pig’s feet!” Mohamed breathed a sigh of relief and realized that he wasn’t the only one struggling to communicate.

The pace of innovation never slows, and the impact of the breakthroughs will redefine the way we live, work and connect with the world.
A New Era for Space Exploration
Space exploration is one of the core missions in many countries. Recently, the newest mission to the moon was launched as NASA’s Artemis Program, which would pave the way for a future mission to Mars. This new era of space exploration will drive technological advancements in fields beyond astronautics and stimulate progress in real-world applications like materials, food science, and modern industry.
A Milestone in AI Predictions
For decades, the scientific community has chased a greater understanding of relationships between protein functions and 3D structures. In July 2023, Deep Mind revealed that the folded 3D structure of a protein molecule (分子), which reduced the number of human proteins with unknown structural data from 4,800 to just 29. While there will always be challenges with AI, the ability to predict protein structures in biology has implications across all life sciences.
Greener Fertilizer Production
Every year, billions of people depend on fertilizers for the ongoing production of food, and reducing the carbon footprint and expenses in fertilizer production would reshape the impact agriculture has on emissions. To reduce energy requirements, researchers from Tokyo Tech have developed a noble-metal-free catalyst (催化剂), which is much more environmentally friendly and safer to the agricultural produces.
Supercomputer—Exascale
Exascale computers, which can perform a mind-boggling quintillion (1018) mathematical operations per second, finally arrived in 2023. They’ve already helped refine weather forecasts and design new materials, and new ones will be coming online soon. The world’s most powerful supercomputers, operating at the far frontier of speed known as the exascale, have now begun to boom. These results from exascale machines coming online in the next few years promise to open a new window into materials, climate science, and medicine.
