1 . How do you spend your spare time? There will be different answers to it. Most people in Poland (波兰) have their own ways of spending free time. Sometimes they just want to have a rest, but they try to do something more pleasant most of the time. They have many different hobbies, which help them to get away from their everyday problems and spend their free time happily.

Many Polish (波兰的) people like travelling. They look for new places that they have never been to and add new and exciting experiences to their journey. Some of them like to climb mountains, others like to go to the sea or a lake to swim, because these can make them get exercise and are good for their health.

Many Polish people also like to watch sports in their free time. They are usually crazy about football, and football is regarded as the Polish national sport. Many football fans may support a certain team, so they go to watch every match of the team they support, and they buy many things that have any relation with the team. Watching a sport and doing it are both good ways to relax.

In addition, doctors say that doing sports is very good for the health. Many people in town, especially young men, often go to the gym to attend the exercise classes to keep fit.

Besides these ways, Polish people have many other ways to spend their free time. And they really enjoy their free time.

2 . Most of us need to heal (治愈) once in a while. For some of us, the hardest part of healing is simply to believe that it’s possible.

Years ago, I was watching my oldest son practice free throws. The boy was good. He made a dozen shots through the net without a miss.

“How do you do that?” I said.

“Before I release (放开) the ball,” he said, “I see it in my mind going through the net. I see it in my mind to make it happen.”

I loved those words. It struck me that they might also be said for healing. We need to believe healing can happen and picture it in our minds to see it in reality.

My late husband, the coach who taught the boy to shoot free throws, was diagnosed with cancer and given six months to live. With a firm belief that healing was possible, he stretched those six months into four years. He worked hard to heal. At the same time, he also learned to accept and let go.

Healing begins when we let go of the past, accept the present and believe that all things are possible.

A few years ago, I had surgery for a broken ankle (脚踝) and spent eight weeks in a wheelchair. I expected to start walking again. That didn’t happen.

I started going to physical therapy (治疗). I believed it could help, so I kept at it. Just when it seemed I’d never again walk as I did before, I did just that.

When hope fades away, we need to believe healing is possible. If we can see it in our minds and feel it in our hearts and believe it in our souls, we can let go of the past, accept the present and begin to move forward with our lives.

6 . I’m Mike. I graduated from Sunshine Junior middle school last June, and I’m now ________ in a senior high school of Yucai in Beijing. This autumn, I will ________ my second year.

7 . My sister and I grew up in a little village in England. Our father was a struggling lawyer, but I always knew he was special. He never criticized (批评) us, but used ________ to bring out our best. He’d say, “If you pour water on flowers, they grow well. 8 . The first time ever I realized that plastic was a serious matter for our planet was during a road trip in Western Australia, almost 12 years ago.

We________at a supermarket along the Coral Bay coast to buy some groceries and the lady at the counter told us they didn’t sell any shopping bags in order to prevent plastic in the________and to help preserving the endangered turtles living in that area. After a first reaction of surprise, we________all our shopping in our arms and left.

This was just one of the many experiences I’ve lived that made me more________about my impact and pushed me to adopt different habits to live and________more sustainably.

Our trip to Borneo was another life-changing________that has strengthened my resolution to a zero-waste lifestyle. While traveling in some Asian countries, we came to know that________drinkable water was always a challenge. So we had to travel with our water bottle, and we________to avoid using plastic during our trip.

Besides, we were also________impressed by our stay on Libaran Island. A sustainable turtle conservation________and the community had made big efforts to________ the beaches and creatively re-use plastic for ten years. Despite that, the shore is________daily with tons of plastic coming from the tides.

Facing this global issue________, raised in me a feeling of sadness and anger that soon turned into________: to do as much as possible to reduce plastic in our life. Small changes can________a difference!

10 . More and more travellers in China nowadays prefer homestays rather than traditional hotels, as they seek private living experiences. The house-sharing model was first introduced by a website in 2003. That website is still the largest website for travellers to find accommodation without much money to spend.

Encouraged by her great experience of homestays in France, Maggita, 30, considered short-term hire as her first choice in her future trips. She later went back to her hometown Shanghai and ran a “shared accommodation” business.

The short-term hire idea has been a win-win business model. For travellers, they can rent a special room at a reasonable price and also enjoy a first-hand experience of the local culture, compared with traditional hotels. For owners, they can gain much with daily rental. Now Maggita has quit her last job in an IT company and become a host of some 20 homestays, which enables her to earn a monthly income of around 40,000-50,000 yuan.

In recent years, China has seen many homestay booking websites. Chen Chi, the founder and CEO of a homestay website, said the model is to share rooms or apartments that are not in use with people who need them. Instead of the traditional view that Chinese people feel uncomfortable living with strangers, Chen found that a large number of travellers got along well with house owners.

However, experts have pointed out a series of problems brought about by the fashion. Lacking supervision（监管）to those accommodation sharing websites, the service quality and accommodation safety cannot be guaranteed. Experts suggest that online websites should closely work together with communities and local police stations to improve the services.
