Tour-goers also get a “dumbphone” without Internet access that’s loaded with numbers for group leaders and other participants, both for emergencies and to promote socializing. As a boy, he had to hike for more than an hour every day across hills to collect water from the nearest source. The idea was to deploy the method he learned in his hometown on a larger scale, which would provide free, independently sourced and easily accessible water to those who needed it most. He began installing (安装) a traditional fog catcher model developed in the 1980s.

At the highest point of Los Tres Miradores, there is a curious set of large structures that resemble a fleet of ships in the sky. They are so-called “fog catchers”. Netted devices, made of high density Raschel polyethylene and spanning several meters wide, are lined up at the top of a misty mound and linked by a network of tubes that lead to storage containers. The 40 fog catchers there provide enough water for 180 families, whether to bathe, clean, drink or to irrigate crops on small garden patches.

Supporters believe that fog catchers have the potential to improve water supply for communities around the world among the ever-challenging circumstances. German researcher Lummerich says, “They are cheap, easy to construct.” In a world searching for water supply systems, it is one important puzzle piece that can make an essential difference locally.

I once travelled across China. As a chef, I really felt at home with this place and realized that its variety of food is as vast as its land.

In Beijing, I took to eating Beijing Roast Duck. The barbecue gives it that famous smoky flavour. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, the tender and juicy duck goes well with the pancakes and the sweet sauce. People say that when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Table manners are no exception. I had to hold chopsticks instead of a knife and fork while eating.

In Shandong, I came across Four-Joy Meatball in a wedding feast. The large round meatball is steamed through to keep its original flavor. Slightly rough and brown outside but incredibly soft inside, it melts in the mouth. I didn’t think anything could beat my tender bacon until I met it!

When it comes to something spicy, what else but Chongqing hot pot! There is nothing that a hot pot can’t fix, so no tour of China is complete without trying a hot pot. In the restaurant I chose, there were so many customers eating that there’s not enough room to swing a cat. I have to say my mouth was on fire but I just couldn’t stop!

As well as a burning mouth, I was left with a full stomach, some lovely memories, and a wider understanding of the tastes of China.

In general, Ms. Dunlop lists examples for the superiority of Chinese cuisine in a delighted way. She shows how it has been affected by foreign cultures, how it has changed with China’s increasing economy and how central it is to the country’s cultural history. She also mentions that what Westerners think of as “Chinese food” is wrong. Globalization has made the real one more reachable than ever outside China. Western eaters couldn’t miss that.

Movie novelizations went through a popular period before the Internet existed. Fans wanted to keep learning more about the fictional worlds they had stepped. into and needed to experience the story again in a new way. They couldn’t simply google it, nor could they immediately get the production on tape. Therefore, the novelization was a great solution.
       Novelizations were usually written by authors who were not in the movie-making process. Instead, they would receive the most complete version of the screenplay to hand and would begin to write their adaptation based on that document. Although changes could be made, there were times where a novelization didn’t actually reflect what happened on the screen because scenes could be cut or replaced and the novelizations were left outdated. But there’s also an advantage. The novelizations were a small piece of movie-making history in their own right. Massive films like Star Wars, ET, Back To The Future, and Alien all received their own page adaptation. It was a completely unique experience before the films were even available to watch. For a time, they were everything for cinema lovers.
       Regardless of the influences on the tales, movie adaptations provide a creative outlet for new concepts to be developed. That’s a wonderful idea. which should be encouraged for those movies that never got a chance to continue on their path.
