Last Sunday, our school held a 5km cross-country running race, that attracted many enthusiastic participants, included both students and teachers.
The route went from our school gate to the foot of the South Mountain. About 200 students and 60 teachers participate in the race, which began 9: 00 am and lasted about an hour. The whole course was extreme difficult. However, no participants gave up halfway. All the racers are held on to the finish line.
As the activity was challenging, everyone enjoyed it but benefited a lot from it. Therefore, we both think highly of it, and expect more activity like this in the future.

Football is my favorite sport. I usual play football with my friends after school and join competitions. I have benefited a lot from play football. It helps me keep health and provides me with a way to relax me during stressful school days. Beside, I’ve become braver when facing challenges. It also teaches me good teamwork is the key to success and it has been brought me many friends with a same interest. All the students in our school took a part in the Sunshine Sports Programme in the morning of September 29, 2020, from 10: 00 to 11: 00. The Ministry of Education demands that students exercised for an hour every day so as to have a strong body and enjoying the whole life. In my opinion, it is a good idea for we senior high school students to take exercise every day. Now, everyone was eager for health, that is considered as a key factor for success. Firstly, your body’s energy levels were high in the morning. Secondly, the morning hour are the least polluted and have the highest oxygen levels. When you breathe more oxygen in the open air, and your body cells are better able to perform their functions. As the result, you aren’t likely to becoming ill.
Morning is a great time to walk. That is beneficial for you to take some regular morning walks, which can ensure our physical and mental health.
During the Men’s 800-metre Race of our school’s sports meeting, Li Hua from Senior 2 soon got well ahead the others and finally ranking first. The crowd were shouting to him when Li Hua fell to the ground and got injury. Many people come to her assistance. The teacher gave him first aid, while some kindly students passed water and a towel to him. In no time, Li Hua recovered. When interviewed, Li Hua expressed his thanks to everyone, saying,“ Injured as I am, but I can feel the warm from my schoolmates.” He was delighted to make contribution to his class.
There are a lot of unforgettable thing in our life. The most unforgettable one for me is the speech competition holding last year. When my English teacher told me that I had chosen to take part in the speech competition, I devoted me to the preparation. I was determined to win the first prize. I was such nervous when I stood on the stage that I forgot everything. Not until I caught a sight of my teacher did I calm down. Finally, I do a good job. When I heard I got the first prize, my heart was filled in joy and tears rolled down. Through this speech competition, I understand that it is confidence which makes people successfully.

To enrich students’ school life, an excited competition was held on last Saturday on the school playground. On the afternoon of last Friday, the English speech competition, organized by our English club, was held in our meeting hall. It begun at 3:00 p.m. and Mr. Lee, our leading English teacher, gave an inspired opening speech. Then two students started to host the competition with both English and Chinese. Fifteen students were attended the competition and each gave an excellent English speech. If the competition finished, the competitors were ranked and prizes were presented to the first sixth speakers. The competition has received positively comments from students and teachers. They both believed that it could encourage more students show interest in English learning.
I would like to talk about my favorite sport, running. I only take it up a few months ago thanks to my colleagues whom are professional runners. I spend more than two hours run every afternoon. There are several reasons why I am fond this sport. First, it is the pretty cheap and easy sport to try. All I need is a pair of running shoes. Second, this is a sport that can bring us some new friends. Third, since I started this sport I have hardly caught any more common health issue like fever, flu, or cold. What’s more, I can show higher productivity than before and work for longer hours without feeling tiring. All in all, I recommend that everyone tries this sport.
We all know that cycling is a greatly exercise. A doctor tells me people who lives the longest are dancers and cyclists. Maybe it is because the combination of fresh air, smooth movement and exercise. Whether you ride a bicycle, you don’t use petrol. So they are not producing carbon dioxide and not cause air pollution. Just see how cars have been taken over our cities. They often run at high speeds, what may put our lives in danger. And there were traffic jams, too. Our cities will be better places if we replace cars with bicycle.
