I have taken part a voluntary organization recently. It is set up last year to provide left-behind children with birthday gifts. It is hardly for them to receive birthday gifts from their parents why their parents leave home to work in big cities. Besides, we volunteers will make a list of these children’s birthday wishes. After read the list, we try our best to get the gifts they really want. Some kids hope for the pair of new shoes or several books as his birthday gifts. I’d like to these kids to receive the very gifts they wish. I sincere hope each one will have a nice birthday.

4 . We have all experienced the force of gravity. It is what happens to you when you jump up into the air. Disappointingly, we tend to fall right back down to the ground. But what if we could switch gravity off? What will happen if the gravity vanishes?
Buckey, an astronomer, says that our bodies are adapted to an Earth-like gravitational environment. If we spend time living where gravity is different, such as on board a space station, our bodies change.
It is now an established fact that astronauts lose bone mass and muscle strength in space, and their sense of balance changes due to the absence of gravity. There are also other problems. For reasons not entirely clear, their red blood cell count falls. Wounds take longer to heal and the immune system loses its strength. Even sleep is disturbed if gravity is weak or absent.
That is just what happens after a short visit to space. “What if you were to grow up without gravity?” Buckey asks. “What about the systems that depend on gravity like your muscles, or your balance system, or your heart and blood vessels?” There is good reason to believe the human body would develop differently.
Karen Masters has explored the immediate physical consequences of losing gravity. The first problem is that Earth is rotating at high speed. Earth’s atmosphere and its oceans, rivers and lakes would be one of the first things to drift away into space. A lack of gravity would eventually destroy our very planet, writes Masters. “Earth itself would most likely break apart into pieces and float off into space.”
A similar fate would happen to the Sun. Without the force of gravity to hold it together, the intense pressures at its core would cause it to burst open in an explosion. The same thing would happen to all the other stars in the Universe. However, because they are so far away, it would be years before the light from their death reached you.

This morning, when I looked out the window, I excitedly found it was snowing heavy. Attracted by the beautiful sight, so I decided to go out to take some photos. As I walked on the path in front of our building, I saw the boy suddenly slip on the snow-covered ground. It was at that moment that I realized how I should do. Immediately, I run back home to get a broom and started to sweep the path. I worked so hard that he sweated a lot. An hour late, the thick snow was cleared away. Looked at the clean path, my neighbor all smiled and gave me the thumbs up.

Dear Lucy,
I’m glad to receive your letter asked about my holiday life. I usually get up very early or do exercise in the park. Learning at home takes on most of my time. At times, I helped my parents with some housework when they are busy, that makes me happy. Meanwhile I take active part in social activities, such as community voluntary work. Sometimes, I join many more volunteers in going out to the streets to collect rubbishes. Besides, I try our best to help those in need, often going to the orphanage to visit the lonely children. I find greatly pleasure in these activities.
Yours,
Li Fang
