3 . DanceSport Club’s Summer Dance Camp

Welcome!

DanceSport Club kids’ summer programs help keep kids active, happy and learning. Kids get to enjoy different activities with other kids while learning new skills or knowledge. The camp provides dance and other fun, healthy and educational activities for boys and girls ages 6-10.

During this camp, your child will be introduced to several activities, such as fitness, different styles of dance such as Ballet, Hip Hop, Ballroom and Latin dance, and musical skills such as rhythm (节奏) and timing. The club has satisfied COVID-19 stricter requirements.

Time: 9 am-3 pm, Monday-Friday, July 26-30, 2021

Ages: Boys and Girls 6-10 years old

5 . My dog, Nala, loves rolling around in a patch of grass any chance she gets. And it always cracks me up to watch her have the time of her life.     1    . To find out why Nala and so many other dogs like to stop, drop and roll, I reached out to Dr. Stephanie Austin, a veterinarian, who explained that dogs can roll in the grass for several reasons! Here are some of the most common explanations behind this behavior

She’s enjoying a smell.     2    . “They are picking up on hundreds of nuanced scents that we can’t even comprehend!” Dr. Austin told The Dodo. “Sometimes they want to enjoy a scent they’ve found in the grass and will roll around in it to do just that.”

She’s covering up her own scent. According to Dr. Austin, there is another theory that dogs may roll in grass to cover their own scent, as more of an inherited predatory instinct.     3    .

    4    . “It’s good to rule out any allergies and make sure your dog isn’t rolling a ton to scratch a constantly itchy back or side, but otherwise, it’s probably normal that he’s having a good time,” Dr. Austin said.

There is a special festival in Thailand that people and animals celebrate together. It’s a festival for Thailand’s elephants—the Surin Elephant Round-up and Elephant Show,     1    takes place in the third week of November. People in Surin are good at training elephants. The festival aims     2     (show) the importance of elephants to Thailand and people’s good relationship    3    them.　

    4    attracts tourists most is the elephant parade. People     5     (dress) in traditional Thai clothes and they decorate their elephants colourfully. 8 . The freezing cold winter really prevents me from going to Beibei District, Chongqing. You really can't imagine how cold a southern China city can be until you experience a winter there.     1     However, while beneath three quilts (被子), I found it still first wet and then cold. Without the wetness, there will be no coldness, for which spicy (辛辣的) food has been popular since very long time ago.

    2     The hotness and wetness is really beyond imagination. While you are out, with shade everywhere but useless to prevent the high temperature, what you have to put up with is wetness added to hotness.     3     Among the famous spicy foods, hot­pot is the most preferred by both natives and newcomers from other provinces as well as foreign countries, as can be seen from the fact that Chongqing is an international city.

    4     As the home of beauties and bridges, it is also a charming city of mountains and rivers, of which I prefer Jialing River most with its green water running smoothly.

People there are very kind especially the old people enjoying a comfortable life either in the shade of trees swinging their fans or playing chess on a square. Living in Chongqing is not a bad choice.     5    

Dark dining is the act of eating a meal without seeing the food that is being eaten. The basic concept is that the    1    (remove) of vision enhances the other senses and increases gastronomic (美食的) pleasure. Since 1999,    2    (specialize) dark restaurants have opened in many parts of the world.

The    3    (one) experience of dark restaurant took place in Paris and    4    (call) “Le gout du noir”. This program became in 2003 “Dans Le Noir?”. It became the first international chain of restaurant in the dark. The first permanent restaurant was Blindekuh, in Zurich, Switzerland. It was opened in September 1999 by a blind man, Jorge, who wished    5    (convey) the experience of blindness to sighted customers. Jorge says    6    idea came after guests who had dined blindfolded at his own home reported greater enjoyment of their meal through the senses of taste and smell.

The notion that a meal can be more    7    (enjoy) without sight is typically described     8    “the theory that flavors are intensified when people can’t see     9    they’re eating”.

However, some dark restaurants devote part of their money to charities or causes concerned with visual impairment. In Zurich, the original dark restaurant is part of this project, aimed at     10    (create) jobs for blind people.
