On a recent weekend, my family had so many fun in Huangshandian village. The village, attracted more than 400, 000 tourist arrivals on average every year, becomes a hot spot thanks to it’s country lifestyle. We took a part in adventures in the mushroom house and the outdoor pumpkin rolling classes in the morning. Then, we picked eggs, dig up sweet potatoes and ran after chickens in the field. Our class visited the City Folk Museum last week. To begin, we searched for as more information as possible on the Internet. Feeling excitedly, we gathered at the entrance on Friday morning. Then a guide was showed us the exhibition of paper cuts designing for different uses. After that, we watched a digital film, what made us know our folk culture better. I am writing to share with you one of my favorite Chinese folk dance, the peacock dance (孔雀舞) of the Dai people, who are known as their dancing skills. It is said that about a thousand years ago, when the Dai minority learned to dance through copying the elegant gestures of the peacock, which is a symbol of happiness. The dance movements are usually performed in fixed order. The dance first start with a peacock flying out from its nest. But next it wanders around the wild, cautiously search for food. Then the peacock goes to the river bank to bath in the water and comb their feathers. In the end, the peacock spreads out the wings and flies joyful into the sky. To show a lively peacock, dancers must use a range of hand movements and eye expressions. Their knees must be flexible, too.

Last summer, I went to Djerba, Tunisia. It was true one of the most attractive destination I had ever visited. I must admit that I have never seen such a beautiful coastline before. I spent most of my days walking on the beach but enjoying the sun and the peaceful sound of the waves. On my four day there, I took a tour and visited some local attractions, included the El Ghriba Synagogue. And that was unforgettable experience. Overall, I felt so lucky to be there because of everything was good than I could ever imagine. I’m looking forward to explore more of this beautiful country next time.
