Nobody before Jane fully understood chimp behaviour. She spent years     1    (observe) and recording their daily activities. Since her childhood she    2    (want) to work with animals in their own environment. Her work changed the way people think about chimps. One important thing she discovered was     3     chimps hunt and eat meat.

Water had also appeared on other planets like Mars but,     1    (like) the earth, it had disappeared later. Water was fundamental     2     the development of life. The continued presence of water allowed the earth to dissolve     3    (harm) gases and acids into the oceans and seas. Last weekend I travelled from noisy Nanchang to Wuyuan, a beautiful scenic spot in Jiangxi Province. Unfolded before me was     1     unique image of this water country-----the stone bridge and the water flowing, all like fairy tales to me.

Nevertheless,     2     struck me most was not the natural scenery but the scene of a grandma bathing a little baby in a wooden basin with the door open. The Summer Palace was added to the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1998, and became one of the first national AAAAA tourist     10     (attraction) in China.

A Chinese university has built the world’s longest 3D-printed bridge. The creation has a     1    (long) of 26.3 meters and a width of 2.6 meters. Its design came from the historical Zhaozhou Bridge     2    (build) in AD 605.

There have been other 3D-printed architectural projects over the last few years, as the technology has become     10    (popular) than before. A team at MIT built a sample house in 14 hours. If there are ever houses on Mars NASA suspects the houses also will be built by robots using 3D printing.

China’s Taijiquan, also known as Tai Chi—a major part of the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and represented by millions of practicers worldwide—     1     (add)to UNESCO’S Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December 2020.

UNESCO described it     2     a traditional physical practice characterized by relaxed and circular movements. Taijiquan,     3     originated during the mid-17th century in Wenxian county in Jiaozuo, Henan province, is practiced throughout the country by people of all ages and ethnic groups.     4    (influence)by Taoist and Confucian thought and theories of Chinese and theories of Chinese medicine, the practice has developed into several schools or styles named after     5     clan (家族)or a master’s personal surname, such as Chen style or Yang style. They are passed down through clan-based form or the master-apprentice (师徒)model,     6     built upon the yin and yang cycle and the cultural understanding of the unity of heaven and humanity.

The successful bid is of great art     7     (significant)to the promotion of wushu, and     8     (especial) Taijiquan, globally. We should work more closely with scientific institution     9     (show)the connection between Taijiquan and     10     (people)physical and mental health.
