I have always dreamt returning to my childhood. Just as many people say, childhood is the happier time in one’s life.
I grow up in the countryside. There are many high mountains, colorful flowers and different kind of trees. Often my parents took me to go hiking and caught insects. My grandma, whose seemed to be full of vivid memories, always shared his stories with me. She told me that I was such gentle and quiet that she never felt worrying about me. Now it is 5 years since that she passed away. I still miss her very much!

4 . Imagine that the genome (基因组) is a book. The book consists of 23 chapters, with thousands of stories made up of paragraphs, words and letters on different levels. There are one billion words in the book, which makes it longer than 500 dictionaries. If I read the genome out to you at the rate of one word per second for eight hours a day, it would take me a century. If I wrote out the human genome, one letter per millimeter, my text would be as long as the River Danube. This enormous document, however, all fits inside the extremely small nucleus (核) of a tiny cell that fits easily upon the head of a pin (针尖).
The idea of the genome as a book is not, strictly speaking, even a metaphor (比喻). It is true to a great extent. A book is a piece of digital information, written in one-directional form and controlled by a system that translates a small alphabet (字母表) of letters into a large dictionary of meanings through the order of their groupings. So is a genome. The only difference is that all English books read from left to right, while some parts of the genome read from left to right, and some from right to left, though never both at the same time.
While English books are written in words of different lengths using twenty-six letters, genomes are written entirely in three-letter words, using only four letters. And instead of being written on flat pages, they are written on long chains of DNA molecules (分子). The genome is a very clever book, because in the right conditions it can both photocopy itself and read itself.

8 . Since smartphones were invented, more and more people have been addicted to them. The addiction to phones has spread to running. They’re perfectly used during a run outside. Smart phones can provide music for you and track your route. But experts warn that it’s not a good idea to hold your phone in your hand while you go out for a run because it could cause hip (臀部) and shoulder injuries.
Professional UK Athletics running coach, Alexa, asks runners to carry phones in a fanny pack (腰包) instead.“When you hold something in your hands, there are slightly indirect influences on your pace. It influences the balance of muscles (肌肉), affects the weight of some body parts, and makes you run less fast,” she tells Cosmopolitan UK.“This could be happening every time you train, week after week, month after month.” And as mobile phones get bigger and heavier, the more injuries are likely to happen.
People like to always hold their phones in the same hand. It’s a force of habit. With one arm heavier, your body will try to compensate for the imbalance, by working certain muscles harder than others.
The other risk of running with phones in hand, of course, is damaging the screen of your phones if you fall. It’s very expensive to change a screen. Some of the latest phones can close to $300.

10 . The Internet plays a big part in human life. We use it for work and pleasure. We use it to learn a new language. We find advice on it. We use it to keep in touch with events we care about. The list goes on and on.
As far as the Internet being a part of our lives--well, that train has left the station. There is no going back to an Internet-free life. But can using the Internet too much be bad for our health? It might be, say researchers. A new study finds that heavy Internet use may be connected to high blood pressure(高血压) in a group---teenagers.
The study results show that teens who spend at least 14 hours a week only online may cause high blood pressure, which makes your heart and blood vessels( 血管) work too hard. Over time, this extra strain (压力) increases their risk of a heart attack. High blood pressure can also cause other diseases.
The Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan did the study. 335 young people, from 14 to 17 years old, took part in it. 134 of the teens were described as “heavy Internet users”. And researchers found that out of these 134 teens, 26 had high blood pressure. The researchers say the study is the first to connect heavy web use with high blood pressure.
The lead researcher of the study is Andrea Cassidy-Bushrow. She said, “Using the Internet is part of our daily life but it shouldn’t ruin us.” Ms. Gassidy-Bushrow adds that it is important for teens to have a rest regularly from their computers or smart phones and do some kind of physical activity. She also suggests that parents shouldn’t let their children use the Internet for more than two hours a day, five days a week.
