Jane felt sweet in the drive-through line at Heav’nly Donuts. Just the day before, a stranger ahead of her in line had generously paid for her coffee. “The gesture made such     1     big difference in my day,” says Eileen. She had recently lost her job as a doctor’s assistant, and money was tight. But Eileen was inspired     2     (pay) the $12 bill of the family in the car behind hers. What she didn’t know was that her     3     (kind) would set off a chain reaction. In two and a half hours, 55 drivers paid for the order of the person behind     4     (they). When he was moving very     4     (slow) on his way, his helpers were busy collecting money from the public. Our hero spent five days on the road and the nights in the camper van. I want to share a kind act that started with    1     (stranger), which left me a deep impression.

One day when I was driving on a highway, my mom called me     2     (tell) that her car stopped suddenly on a busy road. She was so nervous that she didn’t know    3    to do. I wanted to help her, but I was not able to reach her quickly.

A free program     1     (help) Milwaukee Public High School students realize their theater dreams at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts．

“My mom put me in acting classes     2     I was seven because I was     3    (extreme) shy,” says 17-year-old Beatrice Low．

Today, she’s having the chance     5     (work) one-on-one with a professional, touring actress through program at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts．

“I can’t describe it, it’s amazing, I love it,” Low says．

It     6     (call) “Arts Connect” and pairs a class of young actors with theater professionals for a weeklong workshop．

During one session, Beatrice works with actress Teri Hansen．She was in Milwaukee for the Marcus Center’s recent touring     7    (produce) of “An American in Paris.”

Together they work     9     a song from the Andrew Loyd Weber musical “Tell Me on a Sunday,” with an audience of Beatrice’s young peers．No pressure．

The Marcus Center makes the Arts Connect program free for students from three Milwaukee public high schools．It’s has been     10     invaluable—even life-changing—experience, Beatrice says．

Most of them just pass by.    9     (take) the human traffic signal for granted. The reason why he does it like this is that he feels     10     is his mission in life to help others.
