1 . Sketch for Survival 2024
Sketch for Survival is an annual exhibition and sale of wildlife art run by charity Explorers Against Extinction. It helps to raise awareness about species extinction and biodiversity (生物多样性) loss while also raising funds for projects around the world.
You can be a part of Sketch for Survival 2024 by entering our art competition. Just 100 artworks are selected from all submissions (提交的作品) to be exhibited in London & Edinburgh alongside artworks donated by professional and famous artists, as well as competing for our Artist awards.
The submission stage runs from 1 February to 30 June. The selection stage is July-August. Exhibitions run September-November.
Guidelines in Brief:
Anyone aged 17 and over can enter. (Children aged 16 and under can enter our Junior Sketch For Survival Competition). The competition is open to professional, amateur (业余的), hobby and student artists;
Online Submission — no need to post your artwork to us;
There are two categories (类别): Endangered Wildlife and At-risk Wild Spaces;
One work per category per artist;
We are accepting submissions until 30 June;
100 Finalists’ works will be exhibited at our exhibitions in London & Edinburgh and be included in our online fundraising sale;
These 100 Finalists can compete for our awards which include the Leisure Painter’s People’s Choice Award, an award voted for by the public; The Artist Award, chosen by the editorial team of The Artist magazine and the Sketch For Survival Wildlife 100 and Wild Spaces Artist of the Year awards, selected by our specialists;
Short-listed artists will have their artwork digitally shown at The Explorers Club in New York, USA.
There is a Highly Commended Collection for selected runner-ups.

A day of storytelling journeys and performances at the National Museum. Join Captain Zeppo’s Submarine Adventures with Macastory, go on Magic Carpets and Story Safaris, and explore Scotland’s history for all ages with Andy Cannon’s Tales of a Grandson. Tickets for auditorium shows are on a first-come-first-served basis. Story Safaris and Magic Carpets have limited places and will require sign-up on the day.

Join storytellers and musicians Essie Stewart, Claire Hewitt, Alasdair Taylor and Alastair Davidson for an afternoon of traditional journey tales and songs. 4 . Sydney Cinemas in Historic Buildings
The Orpheum
Running since 1935, the Orpheum is of beautiful art design. When it was built, the Orpheum was used as a theatre with a stage and dressing rooms. It could seat 1,735 people. Later, the theatre was turned into a shopping mall. However, in 1986 the theatre was bought by Mike Walsh OBE and turned into a theatre again. Now this six-screen cinema shows old and new films to people. And you can still enjoy live (现场的) music on weekends.

The Ritz
This family-owned cinema was built in 1937. At first, the cinema had a number of owners until, in 1993, when the owners planned to pull down the building, the local government ordered people to protect it forever. Since then, another five screens have been added, making the Ritz one of Sydney’s oldest multiscreen cinemas. It’s known for its beautiful architecture (建筑风格) and low ticket prices.

Golden Age Cinema and Bar (酒吧)
Golden Age Cinema has been carefully rebuilt. It now includes a wonderful bar that serves wines, beers and cocktails, and serves snacks and food specials to match the cinema program. Also in the building Golden Stage features live music acts. A trip to Golden Age Cinema is a relaxing experience for visitors.

Japan Fisherman’s Festival

Museum of Contemporary (当代的) Art
Great way to show your kids how the movies are made and all the steps involved. The exhibition also includes over 500 pieces of art. There are hand-drawn sketches, paintings, storyboards, color scripts, and character models created by the studio’s artists.

Heiwajima Antique (古董) Show
This is a huge three-day inside antique fair that you should not miss. There are over 280 vendors (销售商) that have a huge selection of Japanese, Asian and western antiques. This show only happens a few times a year.

Rattling Creek Troll SystemExpert riders looking for a challenging track with varied terrain (地形) will love this trail. Web of Life A healthy ecosystem is one in which multiple species are each able to meet their needs in a relatively stable web of life. Students will examine how organisms in a local ecosystem are interrelated. | Up All Night Just as we go to sleep at night, a whole new world of animals is waking up! This program will walk students through a comprehensive study of how these animals use their senses to help them hunt for food at night. |
Oh Give Me a Biome(生物群系) Students will use NASA’s data maps to identify biomes around the world and will look at how animals develop overtime and are adapted to living in each. | Animals and Weather Students will work with educators to figure out how animals use adaptation to protect themselves against different kinds of weather. |

Description: This LEGO show returns for another year in the centre of Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire.
