1 . Carillon Canal National Historic Site
The Carillon Canal, built on the Ottawa River for military purposes, was opened in 1833. Located 100 kilometres from Montreal and 130 kilometres from Ottawa, it is today a pleasure boating waterway.

The Carillon Canal is fed by the water of the Ottawa River. The Canal opens a huge gate to enable boats to sail an impressive 20-metre drop in just 40 minutes!
Have a family picnic in beautiful scenery, then visit the old barracks (营房) which are now a museum. Curious to see a huge power station up close? Visits are free of charge.

The national historic site is open every day of the year from sun rise to 11 p. m.

Site access is free. Otherwise, there are fees for locking and overnight mooring(停泊).

My boyfriend forgot to tell them about allergies and told them halfway as they were preparing our order. They responded really well. In the end, we even got to have a nice conversation with the owner of the restaurant. Super great guy! We were pleasantly surprised with the low price at the end of the meal too. If you are in New York, you have to check out LoveMama. Best meal I have had in a while.

Stopped by here for Valentine’s Day and we were not disappointed. We got 3 different dishes all from the Malaysian portion of the menu as none of us had ever had Malaysian food. Q: You often say that universities should be playgrounds. How can we make sure that this is a case?
A: I’m a strong believer in challenging students at all levels — to think, to discover and to go beyond the current knowledge. The universities have a special role here, because academic training and science should go beyond the current horizon. I think that we shouldn’t forget that we shouldn’t train our students for today or tomorrow; we should train them for 10 to 20 years from now. Because then they will be the innovators in our society, and they will be the persons that make a difference. Train our students for future means that they have to be able to surpass the border of our current knowledge. This is what I mean with playground. I mean that you have sufficient space to think, to discover and to be free to make mistakes, but in particular to make the next steps, be creative and not limited by what should be done. A lot of things happen by accident and suddenly you get a major breakthrough or new insight. Schools should encourage students to ask questions and be creative.
Q: What is it that you like so much about teaching?
A: I really enjoy the transfer of the beauty of knowledge: insights, questions, things that we don’t know, or the limitations of what we know. I never get tired of my job. I think that you share with your students the opportunity to transfer some knowledge, but also get a lot of things back by asking questions and discussing. Across all fields, from natural sciences to humanities, you have knowledge and insights built upon generations and decades. At the universities we have to transfer a lot of knowledge and teach students the basic skills and techniques. But it’s also our duty to go beyond that — to ask them questions about what we don’t know and what improvements we can make for the future. Doing surgery in the hospital now might be taken over by robots in the future. How are we going to deal with that? Or will we be able to make fuel for airplanes? These are challenging and tough questions but to share those with the students is really nice. Most of all, I think the beauty of knowledge and the excitement of insights and discoveries is fantastic.

9 . Oklahoma School Testing Program for English Language Arts
PurposeThis testing assessment system utilizes different types of assessment to gather multiple pieces of evidence to provide timely, relevant, actionable, and reliable information about what students know and can do relative to a set of standards.
Test Structure, Format, and ScoringThe English Language Arts operational test is meant to be administered in two sessions within one day with a break between sessions or on two instructional days in a row. Each section of the test consists of 25 operational items and 5 field-test items.
Short constructed-response items provide students with the opportunity to respond to items in their own words. A typical response is 1-3 sentences. Each multiple-choice item is scored as correct or incorrect. Technology-enhanced items are worth one point and are scored as correct or incorrect.
Test Administration DetailsPaper/pencil testing is administrated in this test. Due to the nature of a paper test booklet, students may have to flip pages to read passages and to read the associated test items.
Students will be able to use scratch paper and/or unmarked grid (方格) paper for the paper. The scratch paper must be collected and destroyed by the test administrator immediately following the test.

Camp Structure
The day is divided into two thematic sessions per age group. Campers have a three-hour morning class engaging with a morning theme (9am to 12 noon) and a one-hour lunch break, followed by another three-hour class engaging with an afternoon theme (1pm to 4pm). Snack periods are held throughout the day. All campers should bring their own bagged lunch and snacks.
Camp Content
Explorers Camp organizes engaging arts, history and science-related activities in every class, and focuses on a range of topics that emphasize active learning, exploration and, most of all, fun! All camp sessions are created with age-appropriate activities that are tailored to the multiple ways that kids learn.
Camp Staff
Campers enjoy a staff-to-child ratio ranging from 1:4 to 1:7 depending on the age group. Instructors are passionate educators who are experts in their fields and have undergone training and a background check.
