Every year, villagers come together to celebrate the harvest of yams, an important part in the people’s diet in Vanuatu. The festival is most famous for its “land diving ceremony”. During the ceremony men and boys dive to the ground from high wooden towers with only two thin vines attached to their ankles.
Cherry Blossom Viewing ---Japan
Dates: The cherry blossom season is different from year to year depending on the weather forecast.
The cherry blossom season has huge importance to the people of Japan, who celebrate the days when the flowers finally blossom. Only a few days later, the petals(花瓣)fall to the ground, like pink snowflakes. This is one of the most beautiful things to see. In Japan, almost everyone has picnics in the parks to view the flowers.
Sinhalese New Year--Sri Lanka
Dates: 13th or 14th, April
Just like in many other countries in South or South East Asia, this is the time when the Sinhalese celebrate the traditional New Year, an ancient celebration which marks the end of the harvest season and is one of two times of the year when the sun is straight above Sri Lanka. There are a lot of delicious foods during the celebration.

4 . A new lesson for ages of 13-19 years will be given this autumn. Please read the following explanations before you decide to take Classes include a group warm-up, formal lessons and one-to-one free skate time. Skaters complete one level before moving on to the next level.
Level 1 is for skaters who are new to skating and are unable to skate the width of the ice surface without falling. Skaters should be able to stand and walk on the ice quickly.

Level 2 is for those who are completers of Level 1 and the skaters will be able to skate the length of the ice without falling.

Level 3 is for those who are successful completers of Level 2 and the skaters are able to skate on one foot, skate backwards and stop.

Chinese opera legends make UK stage return
People in UK will have an opportunity to enjoy Chinese culture when the China National Peking Opera Company returns to the country for the fourth time, for a series of workshops and performances.
Activities will be held at the British Library, Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum. Lisa Lu, a respected actress will lead a group of artists from China, the US and the UK to discuss their experiences of working across a variety of artistic fields in different cultures over many years.
China Reading Corner opens in Fiji National Library
China Reading Corner opened here on Friday in the Fiji National Library to help strengthen the cultural exchanges between China and Fiji.
The China Reading Corner contains over 6,000 books, 20,000 e-books and other hardware given by China’s Zhengzhou Library.
Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Qian Bo said that, with this reading Corner, Fijian people know where to find the information they are interested in and the reading comer will serve as a window for Fijian people to look out to the outside world.
“The Chinese and Fijian people will further deepen their friendship and have a better understanding of each other,” said he.

10 . Want to explore new cultures, meet new people and do something worthwhile at the same time? You can do all the three with Global Development Association(GDA). Whatever stage of life you’re at, wherever you go and whatever project you do in GDA, you’ll create positive changes in a poor and remote community(社区).
We work with volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Most of our volunteers are aged 17-24. Now we need volunteer managers aged 25-75. They are extremely important in the safe and effective running of our programmes. We have such roles as project managers, mountain leaders, and communication officers.
Depending on which role you choose, you could help to increase a community’s access to safe drinking water, or help to protect valuable local cultures. You might also design an adventure challenge to train young volunteers.
Not only will you help our young volunteers to develop personally, you’ll also learn new skills and increase your cultural awareness. You may have chances to meet new people who’ll become your lifelong friends.
