1 . Tax Refund for Visitors to Canada
There is refund (偿还) of the tax money (GST) paid on such items as: clothes; electronic products; cosmetics and short-term accommodation (住宿).
Any goods about food; tobacco products; alcohol; entertainment and goods that you consume in Canada do not qualify for refund.
You can claim a refund of the tax money if you meet the following conditions:
◆You are not a citizen of Canada at the time you apply for a refund.
◆The goods you purchase are for personal use.
◆You have paid GST on these purchases.
◆Only original receipts (收据) of the goods you purchase are available. No photocopies are accepted.
◆Each receipt indicates a minimum purchase amount of Canadian dollars $50, not including GST.
◆The total amount of your purchases should reach Canadian dollars $200, not including GST.
◆The receipts should be stamped by the customs officers in the customs offices in one of the Canadian international airports.
You can mail us your receipts of purchases within one year with your original plane boarding pass back home and your home address. We will mail back your tax money in cash within six weeks after we get your receipts. Any false claim will cause a serious offence.
Please fill up the tax refund application form if you fully understand the information with your signature. Mail the form to:

The Rhodes Scholarship
The Rhodes Scholarship was set up in 1902. Today, it is regarded as the oldest scholarship in the world. The Rhodes Scholarship is presented to postgraduate students wishing to study at the University of Oxford. It covers all tuition fees and return airfare to the UK.
Commonwealth Scholarships
This UK scholarship is designed for applicants from developing commonwealth countries who want to go into master’s study in the UK. Each scholarship provides airfare to and from the UK, tuition fees, examination fees and money spent on living.
Gates Cambridge Scholarship
Each year, Gates Cambridge offers 80 full-cost scholarships to topping applicants from countries outside the UK to get a postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge. About two-thirds of these will be offered to PhD students. This UK scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge.
Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship
The University of Edinburgh offers its Global Research Scholarship to 30 advanced overseas students who plan to join in a PhD Research Program. It covers all fields of study offered at the university. The scholarship does not cover money spent on living.

8 . London Canal Museum
Opening Hours
The museum is open from 10:00 to 16:30 from Tuesdays to Sundays all the year round. We close for just a few days over Christmas and New Year. Besides, we are open on bank holiday Mondays and on the first Thursday of each month we open late until 19:30. The last time to enter the museum is 30 minutes before closing time.
Christmas/New Year 2016 ~ 2017: We are open as usual to 23rd December, closed on 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th and 31st December, 2016. We are open on Wednesday 28th, Thursday 29th and Friday 30th December and on Sunday 1st January, 2017.
Admission Charges
The admission charges are as follows:

●Seniors (anyone aged 60 and over) £3.00
●Students (with identity) £3.00
●Children aged 5 ~ 15 £2.00

The Campus Times(CT)is the student newspaper for the University of Rochester(UR). CT is run on a volunteer basis by a group of UR students with deep love for news-papering. All members of the university community have the chance to contribute (撰稿). We now have an online paper that goes live Monday mornings(except University holidays). We also have a physical print magazine once a month.
Where can I find CT in print?
CT has a monthly circulation (发行量) of 2, 800. CT can be found at River Campus, Strong Memorial Hospital, UR Medical Center, Eastman School of Music, and the Memorial Art Gallery. We also have PDF versions of every magazine from recent years in our library.

Jack: a Soldier’s Story
BBC 3, 9:00 p.m.
In Helmand. Jack Mizon was a hero. Back in Aldershot, he’s a troublemaker. This excellent program by B. Anderson, broadcast early on BBC 3, follows Jack as he returns from Afghanistan. Mizon appears as an interesting. attracting and disordered character, whose quickness to fight sees him facing incarceration (关押) in a civil prison.
Right to Die
Sky Real Lives/SRLHD, 9:00 p.m.
John Zaritsky’s program deals with the controversial question of whether people should be able to choose to end their own lives. Zaritsky focuses on the Swiss Organization Dignities, which helps people with incurable illnesses commit suicide.
The Essay: John Milton
Radio 3, 11:00 p.m.
Radio 3 has just begun a major celebration of John Milton. The Essay all week discusses his essays how they relate to the revolutionary current of his times and of his own career. Areopagitica, his great essay on the freedom of the press and of thought, is discussed tonight by Andreas Whittam Smith, once of this newspaper, founding editor of The Independent, latterly president of the British Board of Film Classification.
