6 . Born in 1990, a wheelchair has been part of Zhao Hongcheng’s life since she was one year old due to poliomyelitis (小儿麻痹症) . And now, as a video content creator who has over 84, 000 followers on the video-sharing platform Bilibili, Zhao wants to be a bridge between the disabled and the rest of society.

“I made my first video in 2019,” Zhao says. “My original purpose was to find a way to reduce my emotional stress. I always met inconvenience caused by my wheelchair when going out, which made me feel sad. I barely had any disabled friends, so I had no one to talk to. I felt quite lonely,” Zhao explains.

Her first vlog was about a trip to Guangzhou with friends. The video was viewed more than 2, 000 times on the first day. “This made me feel that there were many things worth sharing in my life,” she explains. Since then, that first video has been viewed over 48, 000 times. Her fourth video, displaying how she got to work in a wheelchair, made her even more popular. The video has received more than 300, 000 views on Bilibili.

“One of the great things about being a content creator is that I feel like I have the opportunity of talking about the real difficulties and pains that a disabled person faces,” Zhao says.

Lottie Dolls offers a doll inspired by a boy with autism. The doll kit includes an astronaut’s suit and a companion dog named Cookie. Lottie Dolls, an Irish company, offers a host of dolls that highlight diversity.

A 6-year-old girl wanted to play with female plastic soldiers. She got her with when Pennsylvania company BMC Toys agreed to make Plastic Army Women. When completed, a pack of 24 figurines (小塑像) will include six different poses and should be available on the company website and on Amazon. It is available for pre-order at different price points.

8 . Every year, young, talented, and ambitious nature conservationists from all over the world participate in the presentation of the Future For Nature (FFN) Award, an honorable international award.

The Future For Nature aims to:

• Reward and fund individuals for their outstanding efforts in the protection of species of wildlife.

• Encourage winners to sustain their dedicated work.

·• Help winners to raise their profiles, extend their professional network and strengthen their funding basis.

Additional Remarks

For the 2024 Future For Future Awards, we are again searching for natural leaders, who have proven that they can make a difference in species’ survival.

From all applications, 6 to 10 nominees (被提名者) will be selected. These applicants will be asked to provide additional information, which will be used to select the final Awardees. Ultimately, three inspiring wildlife heroes are selected as the winners.

Travel: Kate Humble’s Coastal Britain, C5, 8 p.m.

Kate Humble’s starting point for the latest leg of her journey is the picturesque village of Alnmouth, once a leading grain port in the 18th century. Today, it’s known for its colourful houses and a sweep of sandy beach where Kate meets a former GP, Claire, who uses the sand to create temporary large-scale artworks and portraits, which are visible for only a few hours before the tide (潮水) sweeps them away.

Gardening: Monty Don’s Adriatic Gardens, BBC 2, 8 p.m.

The presenter begins the latest leg in the city of Trieste, near Italy’s border with Croatia. He visits a public garden created by an obsessive royal plantsman more than 150 years ago, which is now being carefully restored. Monty then heads down the Adriatic coast through Croatia to pick up the trail that the Venetians followed. The green-fingered expert ends his journey on the island of Lopud, near Dubrovnik.
