The home crowd erupted when China’s Eileen Gu won the women’s big air freeskiing gold in Beijing.

Gu jumped into the top position with her third run,    1     (score) 94.50. Her total score was 188. 25 in the event’s debut at the Winter Olympics.

The 18-year-old, who also     2     (go) by her Chinese name, Gu Ailing, is a freestyle skier, model and grade-A student with     3     American father and a Chinese mother. Wang Rui, one of the three Chinese gold medalists, came     2     Chengdu in Southwest China and was a survivor of the Wenchuan earthquake. On Sept 17^th, Lang Ping, the head coach of China’s national women’s volleyball team, arrived at my high school. I could taste the excitement in the atmosphere on that quiet Saturday morning. At about 9 o'clock, all the Senior 3 students gathered in the school hall,     1     (wait) for the arrival of Lang Ping and her team. There are many famous athletes at home and abroad. One of them is Lang Ping, a coach     1    led the China women's volleyball team to medals at world championships and the Olympics. China's Yang Qian Wins First Gold Medal of 2021 Olympics

The first gold medal of the 2021 Olympics was     1     (official)won Saturday in Japan. China's Qian Yang earned gold in the women's 10-meter air rifle (步枪)to take home the long-awaited first medal. The 21-year-old is     2     rising star in the sport.

Yang,       3     was ranked sixth in the qualification, scored 251.8 points in the final,       4     (beat)Russian Galashina's 251.1 points to set off Team China to a fine start at the postponed Tokyo games.

As the first champion of the 2020 Games, Yang     5     (award)her medal by International Olympic Committee(IOC)president Thomas Bach.

“It's unbelievable that I can be here. The     6     (compete)was really tight, but I'm so happy that I could win,” Yang said after     7     (win)the first gold medal of the Games and for China.

“I'm so happy that this golden medal is a gift     8     my country. I'm so     9     (pride).”

But she had to keep her composure (沉着)to do it.

“I didn't think too much during the match because I was very nervous and my heart was beating very fast, so l just tried to be     10     (I)and keep my emotions in control.” the shooter added.

Qian’s enthusiasm for swimming dates back to 2007. At 11 years old, she    5    (invite) by the coach Zhang Honghu to join the swimming club for people with disabilities. However, without legs, Qian found it difficult to keep balance in water. “Swimming without legs is like handling a boat     6     a rudder (舵). I tended to sway (摇摆) due to a poor sense of direction,” she said

To help her overcome     7     difficulty, her coach made a tailor-made training plan for her. Every day, she practiced swimming for at least four     8     (hour). She made intense efforts to strengthen her arm and balance,    9    helped her successfully get used to the water. “I like swimming. It changed my life and helped me see     10     (extreme) wonderful things,” she said in an interview.

In 2021, Su Bingtian did what no Chinese runner had done before. The 32-year-old runner set     1     new Asian record of 9. 83 seconds at the Tokyo Olympics semifinals（半决赛）.     2     he finished sixth in the final with a time of 9. 98 seconds, he still made a victory. “Actually I’m very happy to run under 10 seconds twice in such a short time”, Su said after the race. “Making     3     into the finals, I have already given all I have.”

Known     4     “Chinese flying man”, Su has been working hard to achieve his dream. On May 30th, 2015, Su became the first Chinese     5     （run）100m in less than 10 seconds. After that, Su competed in many international events and won a number of     6     （medal）. He even planned to leave the field in 2017, but the wish to run in the 100m final in the Olympics brought him back on the field.
