The University of Bologna in northern Italy is different from most North American universities. One major difference is its age.     1     (found) in the tenth century, it is the oldest university in Europe. Its ancient halls give students an appreciation of history. North American universities, on the other hand, are all    2     (relative) new, and students are generally surrounded by more modern buildings. Another difference is the campus. Unlike the North American university campus, there are no open spaces for students     3     (meet) in near this old Italian institution. Instead, students meet on the streets or in cafes.
