After the busy school life started again a month ago, the more exciting part of it came in September when my classmates and I attended the very Heritage Across Borders Program which took place at Zhejiang University. The program mainly focused at how heritage is valued and preserved.
As young activists in heritage protection, we felt it honored to meet the world’s leading group of researchers and professional in heritage .studies. We are deeply impressed by their skills. Besides, their anecdotes were extreme interesting.
China is highlighted what is known as cultural confidence nowadays, but we are proud of our efforts to preserve local heritage.

For example, Japanese observe Obon, which people go to clean graves and light incense in the memory of their ancestors. India has a national festival in October 2 to honour Mohandas Gandhi who helped India become an independently country. Chinese Spring Festival takes place in January or February, and is the most energy and important of all because it is a festival that look forward to the arrival of spring. The reason why all these festivals are celebrated everywhere is because people can get together to eat, drink and have funs with each other.

China and Western countries may have different cultural belief about certain animals. But when it come to pigs, we somehow reach an agreement which pigs are lazy, ugly, stupid and shameless. None of these words are exact positive to describe pigs. Therefore, the truth is that pigs have some good qualities. According to a paper publishing in 2017, pigs can tell from those who treat them well and those who don’t. It was The Dragon Boat Festival on last Thursday. My parents and me visited my grandparents and spend the day with them. When we arrived, they were making Zongzi, what is kind of traditional food for the festival. I was such curious about it that wanted to have a try. So my grandma taught me how to wrap glutinous rices in bamboo leaves as well as tell the story of Qu Yuan to me. I was moved because Qu Yuan was true loyal to his state. The wrapping job was difficult, and I managed to make some.
Not only did I enjoy a great time with my family but also I learned a new skill. How exciting experience it was!

The Yangko Dance is a traditional Chinese folk dance creating by the farmers hundred of years ago. Many Chinese people take it as for an important method of relaxing, no matter when there is a spring festival and when there are some special celebrations.
Before the Yangko Dance starts, the music performed to build the dancers a festival atmosphere. As the dance’s content come from special folk legends, men and women performing the dance are dressed in colorfully clothes.
During the dance, the dancers are wagging to present old stories to the audience in the new style. The dance also shows our happy mood and life.
While the dancers are dancing on the ground, there is usually a big crowd around them, appreciated and sharing the feelings of the dancers there.
