On May 8th, students in No.2 middle school did plenty of interested things to celebrate Mother’s Day. At the beginning of the activity, they organize a competition in which the one who made most meaningful gifts would win.
Apart from it, students wrote letters to express thank to their parents, but someone is too shy to do so. When hear “I love you”, parents looked at their children mildly. They are deep moved, most of them were with tears in their eyes.
This wonderful activity gives them the great opportunity to care about out parents. And it is a good change to do something in return of love of parents. Most of the students enjoy taking part it.

Some festivals are held to honour the dead or satisfy the ancestors，who might return neither to help or to do harm. For the Japanese festival Obon，people should go to clean graves and light incense in the memory of their ancestors. They also light lamps and play music because they think what this will lead the ancestors back to earth. In Mexico，people celebrate the day of the dead in earlily November. On this important feast day，people eat food in the shape of skulls and cakes with "bones" on it. They offer food，flowers and gifts to the dead. The Western holiday Halloween also has its origin in old beliefs about the return of the spirit of dead people. It is now a children's festival，which they can dress up and go to their neighbours' homes to ask for sweets. If the neighbours do not give any sweets，the children might play a trick at them.

Last weekend, I visited to a center for traditional arts in my city with my parents. It's huge place, and you real need more than one day to see it. There are lots of old buildings, restaurants and shops what you can buy traditional thing like toys and clothes. And we eat some delicious food! For me the most interested part was a beautiful old town inside the center. The whole town were built in a traditional style. I took lots of pictures but I couldn't wait to show it to my friends.

Let me share with you the meaningful day I had. I took Jack, a student from England, experience some Chinese cultures on last Sunday. In the morning, Jack and I visited a museum in the center of the city, which many cultural relics in the Ming Dynasty was on show. In the afternoon, we went to the cinema to watch a Chinese animated film naming Ne Zha, which deep moved us. In the evening, I teach Jack to make dumplings at my house. He learned very quickly that he mastered the skill in no time. Tasting the dumplings made by ourselves, they felt a great sense of achievement.

As we all know, culture is similar with an iceberg. There are cultural roles where are obvious and easily to understand. Most of our cultural values, however, is not clear or hidden. For example, when you will visit a restaurant in Japan, people may sit in the floor and use chopsticks to eat. These eat habits are easy to come across. You may not know, therefore, that it’s common for a man to sit cross-legged on the floor, but it’s not considered acceptable for woman to do so. You have to study people’s body language to understanding this less obvious cultural rule.

Recently, the number of foreign visitors to China have been on the increase. During their stay, they all show a strongly interest in our traditional culture. So, to better promote our culture, I had some ideas. As we all know, English is playing more and more important role in promoting cultural exchanges. So they must learn to speak fluent English. We should also enrich our knowledge of traditional culture. Besides, English channels should be opened, from that foreign visitors can get more informations about our culture. On conclusion, the promotion of our culture need combined efforts. Only in this way can foreign visitors to have a better understanding of our country.

I’ve been in Shanghai for weeks and it has all gone by so quick. Now I’m there reflecting on how this experience has helped I better understand Chinese culture. Shanghai has population of over 23 million people, who is more than the population of the top 8 most populated cities in the U.S. combined. All throughout my stay in China, I’ve seen Chinese people wore shirts with English words on them, and heard American music coming from speaker. I’ve felt comfortable in China, and although there were differences, it’s not hard to adjust. Chinese culture is different, so Western culture is too, and in this way, they’re so similar to.

The summer job is a tradition among American university students. Long after the end of the school year, students start their summer vacation job search. They send letters to businesses, going to job interviews, and ask our friends and relatives for help. By June the students usually have been found their jobs and then they begin preparing to enter the world of works.
Reasons for wanting a summer job differs from student to student. Some work help pay their school expenses, others work to gain experience in their chosen professions and still others work just for the funny of it. Salesmen or waiters are two of the more common jobs that students try to find during the summer months.
